This place is what it is, if you want a hotel where you have your own bathroom, go and book into one and pay the extra, this is no what you want. This is a hostel, predominantly for walkers with shared bathrooms and you make your own breakfast, on top of that it is inexpensive. If you are happy with that it is brilliant. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, quite big and the common areas are, for the most part, well maintained. There is bread, cereal, eggs and a huge selection of home made jams on offer for breakfast, as well as tea, coffee and fruit juice, but you get everything yourself and do your own washing up. There is a bar, but I have not used it so I can’t really comment. We have stayed here twice, the first time because we were going out to an event and it was the only room we could get, the second time we stayed for three days. For me, three days was a bit much to be sharing a bathroom with four other couples, but overnight was absolutely fine.
