Iaki Conference & Spa Hotel
4.5/548 Reviews
While The Iaki Hotel's location in Mamaia is promising and the food meets expectations, my recent stay was overshadowed by multiple issues that made for an uncomfortable experience. The most pressing problem was the room temperature control - or rather, the lack of it. The room was consistently overheated, reaching uncomfortable temperatures above 28°C with no way to adjust the heating. This was particularly problematic at night when trying to sleep. The rooms are noticeably dated and in desperate need of renovation. The bathroom design is especially problematic, with poor drainage meaning any water spilled simply pools on the floor. Basic amenities were subpar for a hotel in this category. The toiletries provided were of low quality, and the single-ply toilet paper felt more appropriate for a budget motel than a proper hotel. To make matters worse, there was no hot water available during nighttime hours. The room itself had maintenance issues that went unaddressed despite reporting them to reception. One nightstand was missing entirely, and a broken phone cable was never fixed. The staff's indifference to these problems was particularly disappointing. On a positive note, the food service met our expectations in terms of quality and variety, and the location in Mamaia is convenient. However, given the numerous issues with room comfort and maintenance, along with the staff's unresponsiveness, I cannot recommend this hotel. There seems to be a significant gap between the hotel's positioning and the actual quality of service provided. Not recommended for those expecting standard hotel comfort and service levels.
Crowne Plaza Constanta - Mamaia Beach

First of all, I was impressed by the services at this hotel. They promptly replied to my pre-arrival email and that I was welcomed with a genuine hospitable attitude. Irina and Daria from the reception were very willing to help and to accommodate any request. The bellboys helped us to find parking for the car, the room maids cleaned the room spotless, the waiters helped me to open a bottle of wine, all staff was very nice during the stay. A special mention to the blonde lady at the spa who was exceptionally kind to us: she offered to give us a softer towel for the child, invited us to taste the home made lemonade and offered to keep the float at the pool until the next day. The rooms are very modern, high-tech, spacious and well equipped. The balcony was also large and comfortable and we could enjoy the unobstructed sea view. We appreciated the inside pool as well, which is a great advantage if the weather is not nice. The hotel has also direct access to the beach, so you can easily move from the inside or outside pool to the sea side very easily.
Hotel on Plonge Junior
4.7/519 Reviews
I was in three different hotels here in Konstanta. All had four stars but only one could convince with service, friendliness, cleanliness and customer service. [The On Plonge Junior]. The staff are all friendly. The room always top clean. Eating and drinks were really good and cheap. It is also to mention here the child friendliness and the possibility for the small to play. A extra furnished toy and bolts before the hotel was at no time a problem. Washing service was also offered and has worked very well. All in the washing bag and washed and assembled back 48h later. I mention this here in another hotel, although washing washing is not the underwear. Sincerely, what is it going to do. Finally, a very thick praise to the entire team of On Plonge, does so.
Hotel Oxford
4.8/521 Reviews
Loved the room and amenities - all very new and clean. Room quite large with comfy beds. Location is convenient, with easy access to the Old Town and shops. The onsite restaurant - Sofra - has fantastic food. The only negative is the substandard hospitality of the staff, but this seems to be consistent throughtout the places and venues we visited in Romania.
Hotel Opera Mamaia
4.6/514 Reviews
Light trance music at the beach; impeccable service; outstanding food. Go here if you need to unplug from whatever you are plugged into; this place is an oasis. Even the non-ocean view rooms have balconies with ocean views. The breakfast buffet is scrumptious European food, and the restaurant is the place to go for dinner and lunch... really no reason to shop around price or quality wise. The service is low key; the rooms are very modern; modern A/C system; and a relaxed vibe. So go to the beach; order some drinks; listen to the relaxing, tasteful, low music, and just relax. People mention a club next door in the reviews, but I had no problems with noise. I recommend avoiding the peak season when schools are on vacation... almost at all costs, because Mamaia gears up with thousands of beach chairs and mega stages, subwoofers, etc... for some sort of college spring break thing that lasts a couple of months. So if you go anywhere in Mamaia during peak season, prepare to be blasted with music.
Vega Hotel
4.3/532 Reviews
This was our 4th time at Vega. We’ve been as a couple a couple of times, with my mother in law, and this time with the kids. The first thing to say is that staying in Vega is just that - its all about the private beach and the pool - of you stroll out into Mamaia you find a slightly run down seaside resort that needs some investment. The beach at Vega is lovely, slightly pebbly but nice. The sea is a long way from the hotel as they have extended the beach since we first stayed here but its still nice. Drinks service at your sun loungers is excellent. The beach can be quite windy but I like that in 35 degree heat! The pool is very deep and very nice, no problem getting sun loungers, and the pool side service of drinks and food is excellent. Breakfast and lunch is included in the room rate and is a hotel buffet which is average but enjoyable. The thing that makes the hotel is the staff - they are amazing. Reception, restaurant, and beach staff are really attentive and very friendly, you really feel at home here. The one downside, and why it doesn’t get 5 stars, is that the bedrooms are a little tired. We have stayed in suites and the standard premium rooms and they are all clean and nice but feel like they were last refurbished in the 90s. I can’t comment on dinner as we always get a cab to Constanta to eat out (20 mins taxi). Overall, we enjoy Vega and will keep coming back for the lovely setting and the amazing staff.
