We had the most wonderful 4 days at this beautiful old property. Le Chevalier Noir is in the perfect location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and an easy walk into the old village. We were welcomed by Paul, who is a wonderful host with a vast knowledge of the surrounding area and was happy to help with reservations and recommendations. The house is beautifully decorated with large comfortable bedrooms - we had a little balcony overlooking the valley below. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul, from providing a sumptuous spread for breakfast with local pastries, breads, cheese and fruit to teaching the kids how to play Chinese chequers. He also cooked us the most wonderful beef with the local Gaillac wine which we ate under the stars around a fire pit - a magical evening. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Le Chevalier Noir and just wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Paul!

love staying at Le Chevalier Noir. Paul is an excellent host (I’m sure Daniel is too but we haven’t met him yet). The rooms are great, the beds are incredibly comfortable and if you’re lucky enough to get one of the rooms that look over the valley you’ll probably just sit and look at the view all day. Paul’s breakfasts are also fabulous. He makes an early trip to the local Boulangerie which makes delicious croissants, pain au chocolat and bread including a loaf of the best GF bread I’ve ever tasted. There are also fresh local eggs laid and made to order 😊 and fresh coffee, hot chocolate and tea. The village, of course, is also well worth a lengthy stroll after breakfast to work it off. Paul also has great local restaurant recommendations and has made all of our reservations for us and also has plenty of knowledge on the local villages you have to visit. I believe he also organises bike tours of the area. Can’t recommend Le Chevalier Noir enough.

We had recently stayed at this rejuvenating Airbnb and it was heartwarming experience. Our host, Paul was wonderful and genuine who provided us with recommendations with local tips for dining and sightseeing. Paul had also taken us on a scenic bike ride along the countryside paths which was truly memorable. The property is surrounded by picturesque landscapes with hills, lush fields, and charming vineyards. The accommodation was cozy, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and experience the charm of rural France!

The most magical experience at Le Chevalier Noir and the surrounding area! Hot air ballooning at sunrise rising above the mystical morning mist. Electric biking to surrounding wineries and olive groves. Exploring the local markets and medieval village of Cordes-sur-ciel. Just a sampling of all the activities that can be done while staying at Le Chevalier, with the assistance of Paul, the amazing host.

Stunning house in a fabulous location in the beautiful village of Cordes-sur-Ciel. Paul was an excellent and attentive host, knowledgeable about the area and cooked us a fabulous dinner and provided a lovely breakfast when requested. The house and accommodation have bags of character and the views are wonderful. Easy access (if you can manage a short but steep walk) to the top of the village of Cordes-sur-Ciel which is a stunning hilltop village and the surrounding area is lovely too with a short drive to historic Albi nearby. Can't recommend it enough.

We spent 4 very relaxing days at the Chevalier where we were thoroughly looked after by the host Paul, who is a mine of local information and goes out of his way to make recommendations and bookings. Cordes is a beautiful village with lots to offer and the property is well situated with incredible panoramic views of the countryside. The house is full of character and our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were a particular highlight with fresh fruit, bread and pastries every morning. We enjoyed exploring the area- it is quite stunning and perfect for visiting the pretty villages by car, bike or on foot. A wonderful stay, really recommend. Will be going back.

Absolutely amazing place inside outside and service. Rustic charm meets rural beauty with all the services you need for a relaxing 😎 stay. Exploring the area is fantastically helped by the expert advice of Paul and Dan the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble! Great very fresh breakfasts……… and the bread 🥖 and coffee ☕️ are the best I’ve ever had. Clean rooms, perfectly designed with everything you need plus truly breathtaking views. Great pool area and even a seperate two bedrooms that the young adults loved.
