Tidewater Motel and Budget Accommodation

I am 2 adults and 1 child. I didn't expect to add children when I made the reservation. Therefore, only 2 adults were written on the order. For single bunk beds. When I left the next day, I was asked to make up for $40 because I was late for check-in and didn't tell them there was a child (they meant that they had to tell them the actual number of people for safety, but I didn't have an extra bed). I really don’t know that the last checkin time is 8pm. I only saw 2pm-10pm check out on the order. I arrived at 8:45, no one at the front desk, closed the door. In fact, the old couple slept in the house. Calls are not answered. Can't get in touch either. Fortunately, a compatriot from Taiwan helped me explain the situation without knowing what phone call was made (the old man came out immediately, if there is no help from the compatriots, I am ready to sleep in the car for one night), but he was immediately scolded by the old man. After a meal, the old lady appeared the next morning. . There is a kitchen, but the place to wash your face is separated from hot and cold water. Other foreigners staying in are very good, even I can't understand what to say is bad attitude. If I came earlier, it might be another treatment. I arrived here at 7 o'clock in the evening from Hot Water Beach. Who knew that the mountain roads were so difficult to open, and it was cloudy and dark. No one would always go abroad. But they are not easy. Mutual understanding. But I want to explain the situation.

We booked 8 nights from 27th Dec to 4th Jan but left early on the 31st due to unbearable conditions. We stayed in a lodge (2 adults, 2 kids), while our friends had two campsites. At nearly $200/night, the lodge was below average: a queen bed with a cheap mattress, a bunk bed with a cave-in sponge, and no provided linens. The small closet couldn't hold much, leaving most belongings in the car. The lodge rooms reeked of sewerage, making it impossible to air out. Key issues: 1) Adjacent TV room is a party hub with no staff monitoring the 10pm quiet time. 2) Other lodge guests, often parents with small kids, let their children scream and run in the hallways at 6:30am. We barely got 4 hours of sleep each night due to noise. We had to leave early without a refund. Our friends in the campsites had quiet nights. Reception couldn't offer a better room; all smelled of sewerage. The camp itself is average and far below Top10 standards. Only one family bathroom, other dirty toilets, non-existent kitchen in the lounge, and insufficient laundry facilities. After 4 days, we found it unbearable and left without a refund. We would not recommend this place.

We stayed here two nights to enjoy the Coromandel area. The owners are lovely…very welcoming and gave us information for visiting the area etc. It is very eco friendly and they grow/make much of what they serve from the bread, jams, etc. It is a lovely property with sitting areas on both sides of the house. There is even a kitchen for guests to use as well as a living area. The only downside is it is a little dated, but very clean etc.
Coromandel Court Motel

Room was clean and tidy, 5 minutes walk to town and restaurants, Bed was comfortable, Walls appeared thin you could easily hear voices next door through the walls Smokers outside their units filled our unit with stale smell of smoke but that is not really a fault of the unit, maybe smokers should move to the smoking area. Overall quite a nice motel. Close to town was its biggest attribute.
