After a multi-day hike in the Dolomites, staying at the higher-altitude Rifugios, this place was an absolute delight. Large comfortable room with a beautiful balcony view across the mountains, radiators, private bathroom with towels and free hot shower, and even an overnight boot dryer (very much needed after days of hiking in the snow with soggy boots). The staff were friendly and helpful, the food delicious - especially the venision stew. The breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty (they even had krapfen - small local doughnuts filled with custard). They also serve a nice strong tea with rum. The valley it's located in is stunning, you could have a nice holiday just staying here, doing local walks and taking the cablecar. Would definitely stay here again.

Stopped to visit the gift shop and cafe for a drink after cycling up the pass. Staff are not helpful and some are quite rude. I did buy a small gift and a coke which were both overpriced. How do businesses like this survive? Anyway makes every other cafe fantastic in comparison!

It is a simple structure, but in an excellent position for skiing. I've been there several times, but lately the prices have increased a lot, while the quality is a bit out of date. The rooms are comfortable, but have not improved enough to justify the price increase. Dinner and breakfast are quite good, but a little less than the pre-covid period. There is also a sauna, small but very welcome after a day of skiing.

€ 20.50 for a breakfast… for two pieces of a cake that they called “cheesecake”, but which was actually a very dry sponge cake with sour cream cheese, it's a coffee and a cappuccino. The most expensive breakfast of my life, served with no small dislike !! I will not go back

I arrive with my family at the Frara refuge after a 5 hour walk and we order food. The prices are extremely high but it is also a very touristic place so we are not surprised. There were three of us and each took a simple pasta dish. We had specified that we wanted them without anything. The dishes arrive at the same time but do not meet the requested criteria: the pasta was filled with oil and there was parsley. We eat and once come the bill, we are surprised at the price (67€ for 3 people). So we check and there was indeed an error: the pasta had been charged €18 per unit. This is actually the price of pasta with venison stew. The server assures that it is a mistake and goes to redo the account. The new addition is charged at €52 or €13.5 for plain pasta!! The price this time is that of spaghetti with tomato which does not yet correspond to the dish ordered. The server told us that since the plain pasta was not indicated on the menu, they had to charge for it at the price of one of the dishes on the menu. The pasta wasn't even very good and undercooked. I must however notice that the waiters were very friendly and kind. I will therefore not go back there again and I advise against it: go your way!

Saturday 2 July 2022 around 8.30 my husband and I sit outside the Frara Refuge for a break. We are the only customers. We order and a young, kind attendant brings us 2 coffees and some time later 2 slices of strudel, fresh from the fridge, with vanilla sauce at room temperature. No paper napkins ... patience! We pay € 18.00 for the strudel and € 3.00 for the coffees. In no other refuge have we paid € 9.00 for a slice of fresh strudel, with sauce at room temperature and without a napkin. Before leaving the place, I go to the services and I am severely scolded by the owner of the contiguous souvenir shop, who reminds me that only those who have consumed can access the services. In silence I showed my receipt ... I forget to specify that I am a white-haired lady with a discreet and kind air.

Welcoming and smiling staff. Breathtaking panorama. Kind owner. Generous and delicious portions. All accompanied by a family atmosphere. The wonderful location where the refuge is located should be underlined and I highly recommend it

I go every year to eat at the Frara, I would say that the service and food have improved from decent to a very good level, but since the management has changed since last winter, I don't understand why Tripadvisor doesn't update when there is a management change.
