Hotel Palia Don Pedro

My room was directly above the bar so was extremely loud till very late at night. The pool area was fine, sun beds could do with updating as they’re old and very well used. Rooms are clean on the surface but don’t look too deep, dust piled up in corners or literally swept under the bed. The shower in my room was terrible and full of limescale, almost impossible to shower well. Although all inclusive, the food was poor for options with similar things being offered each day. On top of that they stop bringing out more food long before service finishes so if you’re later to the dining hall you will have limited options. They also stop laying tables with cutlery for you. A few times I had to leave without food as there were no clean bowls available which was very disappointing. Yes it’s cheap, but it’s cheap for a reason.

We had a great time here enjoying a 4 night stay in early March. I think that some of the reviews come from people who complain about everything. The hotel needs a bit of tlc but for what we paid it was perfectly adequate. The food was lovely, the staff were great, the all-inclusive drinks and snacks were bang on. The pool was immaculate. The rooms were some of the biggest we have stayed at. The hotel boasts some stunning views, and the local volcanic rock beaches were amazing to see. The local area is a bit quiet which was great for a nice break, but if you want the more lively resort then hop on the 467 bus just outside the hotel. It will take you to Los Cristianos where you can walk to Playa Del Las Americas. One way was 6 euros for 4 adults. Definitely worth a visit ! The only downside to that bus trip was the fact that it was a 40 minute trip, although once we got caught in traffic and it was 70 minutes ! Also, you will get a seat on the way in, but there was almost no chance of a seat on the way back. If you don't mind standing then happy days !! All in all we had a great time..

As stated by previous reviews very dated large hotel. But having said that staff could not have been more helpful. Greeted by Fabrice who left a message for us to change rooms very dirty and too close to bar having to listen to the entertainment? Carmen helped and changed the room thank you. New beds and coffee tables being installed whilst we where there mattresses "perfect " and memory foam ! Be aware there is NO WiFi and you have to pay...NOT stated when booking Claudia helped us with this. Variety of food was excellent and great choice of dishes although some a little bland. Waitress of the year NIEVES so jolly and happy a total tonic. Room had daily cleaning and towels changed if need be. If you want a cheap in the sun basic holiday but with friendly staff this is the one. Quite a walk to some of the shops and of course beach advertised as nearby but be aware only black rock.....no golden sand. Only 20 minutes from airport which was a bonus.

Hello, here's an honest review of this hotel. We visited as a family from the UK just a few days ago, stayed for 5 nights, booked thru sunshine holidays. The place is 3 stars but looks a bit run down in places, the rooms are dated, furniture is old, but everything works and overall decent. You pay for WIFI, to rent lounger towels if you want to or just buy or bring your own, and deposit for the TV remote, if you can't find an app on your smartphone like I did. The staff are welcoming and nice, helpful when needed but that's about it. Most of them that work directly with the customers seem to speak many languages. Plenty of tourists from the UK, France, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe even Russians who are everywhere for some reason, so people are happy with the place. But remember this is not 4 or 5 stars, you get what you pay for. There is a decent reception area, you walk through, then you have the restaurant on the left, and after that the complex sprawls everywhere, with a central pool in the middle and a kids pool at the corner of it. the bar is to the left of the pool, that's where most stay during the day. The complex is mostly hotel apartments with a few of them seem to be sold and the owners live on site. If you explore, you can find a little footbal court, a sand volleyball court and a mostly abandoned bowls area. There are the usual rules of don't reserve your lounger but most still do early morning, no music in the pool area from your phone or speaker as you get some from the bar sound system etc. There are loads of trees and plants around the place, and green parrots everywhere which were a joy to see. Our kids were happy with everything, maybe the pool water could be heated a bit, most people don't go in because of it. Same with the kids pool which is in the shade most of the day. Maybe it isn't a problem in the summer. Entertainment by the bar in the evenings, we didn't bother with it as we have little kids, but it can get loud if your apartment is close to that area. The food was decent, pretty good variety and quality, plenty of fruit and deserts, usual bar with cheap all inclusive drinks, again everything in line with the price you pay and the rating. Same stuff with the reviews here or on google, most people that write these reviews like to complain, the ones that were happy with it don't bother so you don't get a realistic view of it. But that's what you get here, a decent but somewhat dated place that works for the majority, if you want a cheap getaway in the south of the island you won't get much cheaper than this, and it's a good deal. So 4/5 from us. Thanks again to the staff and maybe see you again!

Well, after reading some of the reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was fairly last minute and cheaper than some hotels that had breakfast only in other resorts. Being all inclusive, it worked out a cheap holiday, which is what we wanted. I had not been to this resort before and probably won’t return. It’s a bit weird. There is no real beach and the walks sometime end in dead ends. Some parts are really run down and it all feels a bit unfinished. There are nice areas though, like the harbour. The hotel is a bit different. It was obviously built to a budget in the 80’s and whoever was in charge of maintenance and upkeep most likely left a long time ago. Everything and I mean everything is tired. It needs far more than a lock of paint, but we knew what we were getting reading other reviews. I have to say, the restaurant food is very good for an all inclusive, one of the best I have had in the canaries. Plenty of choice and good quality, though get there early as they can’t keep up with the washing up and run out of cups and cutlery. The staff are mostly friendly, though noticeably friendlier with non English people. The bar is weird. Dated and doesn’t always open on time. Snacks are basic and not available all day and as others have said, drinks are served in the smallest paper cups. They could make life a lot easier by serving proper sized drinks and you wouldn't have to keep getting two at a time! The hotel and rooms are clean, but very very dated and tired beyond repair. We had a note through our door on our second day saying we should expect workmen to carry out essential upgrades. I thought this was long overdue, but rather than putting on a wardrobe door, straightening lighting switches, fixing flickering lights, finishing painting door surrounds or removing exposed wires, we came back to a new coffee table, which was probably the only thing in the room that didn’t need replacing! If you want to stay in a nice, modern, well equipped hotel in a nice resort near a beach, forget it. This is not the place. If you just want a few cheap days in the sun with good food then it is ok.
