Precise Resort El Rompido-The Hotel

Average in all aspect except the courses which were poor. The hotel was clean. Room was of good size but no tea coffee making facilities. Towels have seen much better days, plenty of toiletries but did not use them. Lid of the toilet was cracked. Flooring was rising in the room and in some corridors. My bed springs had gone and it felt like sleeping on a slope. Restaurant was very busy for dinner unless you went at second sitting 21:00 hrs. Staff were very good throughout the hotel. Drinks were very expensive €7 euros a large glass of beer and €14 for a short and mixer. There is a supermarket on site but a can of Coke Zero is €1.80. Water at the bar was €3 for a large bottle. Food was ok but not great. Breakfast was ok not great. Spa was good for a sports massage. Golf courses were simply not good enough in my opinion. Soaking wet from sprinklers overnight. Did not dry out until early afternoon. Greens were bobbly and patchy. Bunkers were dreadful. Many had no sand with weeds growing through what sand there was. Fairways were in poor condition with tree roots patches of gravel on the fringes. It was so bad that there were tufts of different types of grass in the fairway that we could pick clean and replace. Water features and ponds had puddles in the bottom and acres of pond liner in view. There was maintenance ongoing and tees being rebuilt and turfed. Cart paths torn up by machinery. Cart paths on the Norte were torn up or worn out tarmac with dangerous potholes where the path met the fairway. Temporary tees on the fairway in the Sud Course. Play was so slow. Our group let a pair through and we were told off by the marshal for doing so. Three rounds average 5.5 hours each using buggies. A Natural Waterside park abuts the course and there were quite a few mosquitoes! A buggy is essential, some long green to tees especially the 17th at the Sud. You could fly from Faro or Seville but there are many other places to go where the courses are much better.

Good value golf hotel , semi all inclusive ( after 5) which suited perfectly , had a single occupancy double room , smart and comfortable . Well equipped bathroom with both shower and seperste bath , Food buffet style of decent quality lots of choice ,. Two gripes coffee machine in breakfast buffet was never hot , and after dinner there was no onsite entertainment, unlike our previous visit when we had DJ or singer pianist nightly . Understand evening entertainment starts in October ! The Golf onsite is perfect , 2 courses great for societies like ours , courses in great condition , and well looked after ! We booked golf hotel package with GOLFBREAKS , recommend them and this hotel .

Our fifth stay as a couple in seven years and for one week primarily for golf. Not much has changed but neither is it needed ! It’s perfect ! Very relaxing, calm and serene. Clubhouse staff are efficient and friendly. The buffet breakfast is excellent and dinner also with varied and different dishes, which are constantly replenished. We’re young 70’s and feel to be in the middle range of ages! Everyone having a good time but nothing rowdy. Majority appear to be German, Dutch, French or even Spanish and nearly all are golfers. Yes, we’ll be doing it again next year!

Great resort 2 challenging golf courses great facilities, only bad point we was a large group of middle aged men and when after we played each day we had a few drinks in the bar we seemed to be the youngest group everyone else seemed to be 20 years older than us and they got upset at the noise we made when we chatted, the bar staff tried to stop us from buying more drinks at one point which didn’t go down well, we smoothed it over with the manager though and they provided us a more secluded area we could socialise in away from the main bar which we were happy to do. So if you are a large group of men going just be wary of this one point

Our 5th year in November for winter sunshine and golf. 6 ladies this time playing twice on the North course and twice on the South. Both courses are enjoyable, the North being a bit more challenging. The hotel is clean everywhere, the rooms are spacious and beds comfortable. We were semi all inclusive so enjoyed free drinks, both in the bars and in the restaurant from 5pm until 12mn...although I don't think we made midnight. Entertainment was good in the Son Saura downstairs bar. I must give a special thank you to Pepe and his team. Pete looked after us and he was missed on his night off. A very happy person with a good memory and decent spoken English. We did use what Spanish language we knew and we think he appreciated our efforts!! All staff including reception bar, restaurant and the lovely cleaning ladies were all happy at their work, which says a lot about the management. Thank you all.

Staff were extremely friendly and informative and the room was very comfortable and clean. The cold buffet selection was good, but the other food was barely warm and of poor quality - fish was uncooked in the middle, steak was tough and bolognese sauce was thin and tasteless. Perhaps an a la carte restaurant may be a good addition to the hotel. We had booked a 2 night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but came away feeling rather disappointed.
