BlueBay Lanzarote

I honestly dont know how on earth some people say on facebook or here that this is a nice hotel. We arrived yesterday 9th Dec and called Jet2 after 20 minutes and paid to move hotel today. The rooms are extremelly dated, unclean, and so basic. You feel disgusting just being in the hotel. We went for lunch having arrived as no ones room is ready till 3pm. Im not a fussy eater and open to try any and everything. But every single thing we tried was stone cold. Pizza was like a brick. The people who say they love this hotel are clearly special and love a bit of rough. Please avoid at all costs. Also note that after calling JET2 we moved today to an unbelievable hotel. Its like the Ritz after the Bluebay Dive. And before the Bluebay loyals jump on me for slating there Cowp of Hotel. Check the photos for yourself and grow a set. The pictures advertised online to the reality is night and day. Total Catfished. You need to be on Crack to enjoy this Dive.

SICK IN MY PILLOW!!! absolutely terrible holiday at bluebay and would never return! to start of the first half of our holiday we had no entertainment at all or music as no entertainment staff there! and the slide being half the reason we went bacause of slide for this kids was locked up and never opened. in the 11 days we had there was never a life guard on duty at all or staff around pool for any sort of safety with a pool full of kids. the rooms filthy and full of bugs/ cockroaches and stains all over the furniture and bed settee (prison bed and sofa) , the dinner hall chairs are absolutely filthy! dinner plates not cleaned properly twice have picked a plate up and still got sauce on from previous users. (yes it may have been nice when you went previous months/ years ago) but that isnt the case now at all. **** **** now for the bit that really ruined our christmas holiday! Asked for 2 extra pillows for our bed as the pillows are also rubbish. after receiving them i kept getting a wiff of sick (even though know one had been) around 2 hours later after laying in bed the smell was getting worse but the pillows looked clean visuallyand smelled clean, so got up and looked around the pillows etc and the pillow that was inside my pillow case was wet through WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S SICK!!! so they have put a clean pillowcase on this sick covered pillow! absolutely fuming to say the least, after speaking to tui they told me they had contacted bluebay to clean room and swap pillow (which they did) and said i they would ask for some sort of compensation/ good will gesture for the horrendous pillow. all i have received is a "we apologise" not anything else after spending £4500 for christmas here. not on at all avoid at all costs. i will never return and advise any1 else who has any sort of cleanliness doesn't either! :( never complained before but truly rubbish. also 3 other couples we spoke to around pool had items stolen from rooms and staff just say claim on insurance or complain, so please be careful if you do stay. pics attatched

Hotel dated and tiered first trip solo paid not much. So can’t complain staff two ladies on check in one Australian I think just not welcoming at all. Gent in restaurant fab sat me on solo table by window food was lovely can’t complaint. It’s brits abroad sorry to say but that’s not their fault. Out every day on bike was fab but didn’t stay by pool as too noisy. Reception remember first impressions!!!

Booked to stay here with the family, arrived a couple of hours before check in. Checked in at reception, hired some towels so we could have some lunch (bland, tasteless and cold) and get straight by the pool while waiting for the room key. 80 euros (40 euro deposit and 40 fee for washing) later and we had some threadbare towels with stains and holes in. Hindsight we should have walked to a local shop and bought some, however we were tired and just wanted to get in for a swim! Sat down by the pool, kids went to the loo. Only one of three toilets had locks, girls went into one of the non locking ones, one of them holding the door for the other. Some other children came in, tried kicking the door down and swearing at them. So within an hour of arriving we now have two upset children, afraid to even go to the loo on their own. Got the keys to the room, paint was missing from the door frame and it looked very unappealing! Room itself was OK, if you don't mind a nice comfy trench in each of the mattresses and curtains with dubious white stains. At this point we contacted jet two for a transfer to a different hotel. It took three nights due to it being a weekend, but we moved to Sands Beach and it was fantastic an absolute breath of fresh air! Just to add we really are not fussy, we just expected somewhere nicer than you get at home and to feel safe with our children. This place is perfect if you are looking for a cheap, rowdy, booze fueled, chavvy holiday. Actually can't believe that jet2 offer this as a hotel. However they we're very accommodating when we requested a move.

Hotel is a bit dated could do with some paint and general tweaks however very clean. Food fresh plenty choice, English, pizza, pasta, salad etc we enjoyed all of it. Plenty of drink selection from pop, water amstel on tap etc. Great location 10 minute walk to main square, fab market on 6pm-10pm weds and fridays taxis very cheap. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I have just returned from a week’s holiday at Bluebay booked through Jet2 holidays. As we’ve never been to this hotel before we went off the pictures and the reviews on the Jet2 app. Do not be fooled by the pictures! They must have been taken a long long time ago. They give a totally false impression. The hotel is very dated and run down and is in serious need of renovation and maintenance. There are 3 floors but there is no lift which would be a problem for elderly or less mobile guests. It also means luggage has to be carried up and down the stairs. Due to mobility and health issues my husband and I requested and were allocated a ground floor apartment. The room was clean but had a very strong smell of damp. The plaster was falling off the walls and the doorframes on the outside of the patio doors were hanging off. The bathroom was covered in little black fruit flies which was probably due to the overpowering smell from the drains and there was tiny little ants running all over the dining table and on the kitchen surfaces. On the first night of our holiday we had to go out and buy fly/insect spray and disinfectant. We reported these issues to reception 3 times and then informed the Jet2 rep. On the third day they offered us a room exchange but not on the ground floor as there were none available. As we would both struggle with the stairs we had to stay where we were. We were given 2 cans of strong insect spray which didn’t work as we then had 2 cockroaches in our room as well as the flies! Cockroaches seem to be a hotel wide problem as a number of guests also reported having them in their rooms and they were also around the outside of the restaurant. On a positive note the staff are lovely. The food in the restaurant is varied and nice. Bar snacks are served most of the day and there is a lot of choice. The entertainment is really good both in the day and at night and the entertainment team are absolutely fabulous.
