The Deal Island Bay Cottage on Maryland's Eastern Shore situated on a large lot where you can unwind from the daily stresses of the beltway life. Watch the sunrise every morning as you eat breakfast from the cozy dining room while a symphony of bird sounds provide the music and entertainment. Dog Friendly cottage.Activities reported by past guests include crabbing. Locals use a technique known as chicken necking where they tie a chicken neck to a weighted rope. Once the crab starts munching on the chicken, the rope is slowly pulled up and a net is used to get the critter. All supplies for are in the cottage except the chicken. Other guests have fished, boated and hunted, which is plentiful during the right season. Some say that the Deal Island Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is the mecca of duck hunting in the winter! So, use it as a hunting lodge and bring home the fowl.At dusk, take a walk to the beach on the other side of the bridge which is only 1 block away and watch the sun set into the bay as if you were sitting in Key West, Florida, but without the crowds. The smaller 2nd bedroom has a bunk with a full on the bottom and twin on the top. If you have a larger party, there is a 3rd closed off bedroom available with 2 foldout cots.
