Panoramic views, comfortable decor, easy access and centrally located - just 20 minute drive to Bell Rock in Sedona, 20 minutes to Camp Verde & Cottonwood, 2 1/2 hrs to the Grand Canyon The cottage is most suited for a single, married or commited couple who are seeking a quiet and peaceful environment. This is the perfect place to unwind, meditate, promote healing and enjoy the outdoors.Pet policy: We allow dogs if they are: well trained and behaved, not allowed on furniture or on the beds, not left alone when you go out, and don’t bark regularly or incessantly. As the owner, you agree to clean up after your dog, and to dispose of the waste in a special trash bin. It’s helpful if your dog is recently groomed and/or doesn’t shed (much). Please ask about your dog ahead of time.  There is an additional charge of $10/night.We allow cats only if they do not scratch or shed. The guest will bring a bed, litter box, and optional scratchng post if necessary, for the cat and there is a $10/night charge.The spaceLocated on a hilltop in Rimrock, the cottage has sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains and Coconino National forest. Rimrock is a very quiet and safe location, far enough away from the busy tourist areas but close enough to northern Arizona's most popular destinations.The cottage is located at the end of a rectangular building that is divided into three sections-the cottage at one end, our office/apartment in the middle and a single car garage at the other end. We sometimes stay in the apartment when the house is rented. Guest accessIf we are on the property we like to give a bried tour to our guests, Otherwise there is a lockbox with key access.The cottage is located about 25' from the main house and guests have complete privacy to come and go as they please. The cottage (consisting of approx. 300 sq/ft), deck and pergola is set up as a studio with kitchenette (convection oven, hot plate, coffee maker, instant hot water kettle, microwave, toaster, utensils, plates and refrigerator. We keep a supply of organic coffees and herbal teas on hand.Other things to noteSmoking is strictly prohibited indoors but there is a designated smoking area outside. This quiet and secluded stone cottage is set in 3 acres bordering the Prescott National Forest. It is the perfect place to explore both Prescott and the local hiking/Bike and OHV trails. Goldwater Lake is just 2 miles away and is a gorgeous spot for hiking, fishing, kayaking and picnicking. Downtown Prescott is only stunningly beautiful 10 minute drive.The cottage is an open plan studio apartment. The living area is open with plenty of windows and natural light. A comfy couch with footstools is the perfect spot to relax after a long hike, or a day enjoying Prescott. Pop your feet up, snuggle in front of the fire and you might even catch a beautiful sunset right from the couch. The Queen bed has cotton and linen bedding, and a very comfortable tempur pedic mattress.The kitchen is open plan, with a small fridge, with an ice box, two ring hot plate, multi-function toaster oven, microwave, K-cup coffee maker, milk frother, tea kettle and all the pots, plans and utensils you will need. A small dinning table completes the kitchen nook.The bathroom has a walk-in shower, and you will find a hairdryer in the cabinet under the sink. If you find you have forgotten something the are some emergency items there too.There's a desk if you need to ctach up with some work, plus very fast wifi.There is step-free access to the cottage from the driveway to the side of the patio, if you prefer not to use the steps at the front of the cottage.The cottage has it's own private patio, with chairs, table, and propane griddle, perfect for outdoor dining, or cocktail hour. The area just across the driveway from the cottage, on the top of the hill, is available for you use with chairs and a bench, it's a lovely spot to watch the sunset through the tall pines. We are on a septic tank, so please follow the guidelines in the folder, there are some gentle reminders for you too.The road to our property is paved, and is usually plowed quickly when it snows. Our driveway is gravel and has some steep areas, and so a 4WD vehicle is needed during snow. It doesn't snow often, but snow can happen between November and March, and so you may need a 4WD vehicle. It's incredibly beautiful when it snows, and we want you to be able to access the cottage safely. If you are booking a last minute, and there's no snow, then you don't need a 4WD. If you are booking a long way out, please make sure you have one if your visit in in snow season mentioned above. To your right, there is a door that leads to a small balcony overlooking an idyllic neighborhood.In the main space of the loft, there is a queen daybed for your convenience. Whether you use it for seating or sleeping, you will appreciate its utility and comfort. This is not a flimsy pull-out sofa, this is a real queen mattress. Sooo extra! In front of the bed, you will find a comfy couch and stylish accent ottoman to enjoy as well.Near the back of the open floor space, you have an equipped kitchen and dining area with windows on all sides. The light streaming through the windows and the colorful appliances and supplies makes cooking and eating a fun and bright experience. There is no shared space between the units or parking spaces but you may see other guests in their designated parking area or their courtyard.The home is in a forest. You may see wildlife such as deer, javelina, rabbits, insects, bugs, and other forest animals in the outside areas.There is 1 small friendly dog on the property, his name is Jaxon. He does not have access to any part of the space associated with your unit, however, there is a window in the downstairs bedroom that looks out to a courtyard where you may see him roam.The downstairs bedroom is only heated with a portable heater. The main upstairs area uses baseboard heaters and one wall heater. In general all areas of the unit stay very warm during the winter, but there is no central heating system.All guests are certainly welcome, but there is a set of stairs. Please keep that in mind when booking.While we don’t offer Cable, the TV is equipped with a Roku to enjoy watching all of your guilty pleasures. It is located in walking distance of Historic downtown Prescott. At most a 10 minute walk to courthouse square. Bright & Cheery with everything needed except you and your food. The only step is at the front entry gate.
