Our holiday was given to us as a present. It's a location that we wouldn't normally go to, but wow! were we pleasantly surprised? So much so that we could have stayed a few more days if we had the time. The awesomeness of the scenery was breathtaking, being right up close to the mountains, the air so fresh. The Gran Baita Hotel was located in the perfect spot. We loved the hotel and its unique wooden carvings all about. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. We loved the veranda off the bar where we could sit looking at the majestic mountains view while sipping our favourite cocktail. We had an easy time relaxing in the spa area, in a word "lovely!" The local town of Courmayeur with its lovely pedestrianised streets and lovely plaza... we loved it. We will be back again. Just as a suggestion, me as a curious visitor, I would like to see a map outside on the veranda showing the names and heights of the mountain peaks. Hats off to Hotel Gran Baita!

It is a lovely hotel with great views and amazing heated indoor and outdoor pools. We were there during the off-season (May) but still enjoyed our stay. The rooms are well-decorated, and all the staff were helpful, professional, and warm. We also appreciated the little gift, which was a local liquor. Thanks a lot.

This is the second time I have stayed at Gran Baita Hotel. Every aspect of our stay (we had a party of 11 people) was delightful. The staff, the food, the aperitivo hour, the rooms, cleanliness, the wellness center. We have no complaints.

Gran Baita is an excellent hotel - warm and comfortable, beautifully furnished with antiques, good quality well-equipped rooms, great indoor/outdoor pool, efficient minibus shuttle service to and from the ski lifts. The food is very good - decent selection of fresh and cooked options at breakfast and an excellent four course dinner with choices throughout, some exceptional and all delicious. The staff are great - friendly and happy to chat but also efficient and very hard working. Boss man was a little grumpy at times but perhaps he had a bad day. This was our second time staying at Gran Baita for a February ski holiday in Courmayeur and we hope to visit again next year.

The major problem that this hotel has is coldness in service and its staff. You don’t feel welcomed, no one cares to be nice and helpful. It’s very cold and lacks a spirit. I think it comes from the way it’s managed by the family that owns it. When we were staying at the hotel, the whole family of owners was there, and we saw them everyday, they never smiled, never said hi or asked if we liked the place or if anything was needed. They acted as if they were royals and the hotel staff cared about them and served them more than the guests. During the summer we stay for over a month in Tuscany at a hotel that is also owned by a family, but their genuine care about guests is visible in every little detail unlike in Gran Baita. If we ever to return to Courmayer we will not choose this hotel.
