The major problem that this hotel has is coldness in service and its staff. You don’t feel welcomed, no one cares to be nice and helpful. It’s very cold and lacks a spirit. I think it comes from the way it’s managed by the family that owns it. When we were staying at the hotel, the whole family of owners was there, and we saw them everyday, they never smiled, never said hi or asked if we liked the place or if anything was needed. They acted as if they were royals and the hotel staff cared about them and served them more than the guests. During the summer we stay for over a month in Tuscany at a hotel that is also owned by a family, but their genuine care about guests is visible in every little detail unlike in Gran Baita. If we ever to return to Courmayer we will not choose this hotel.
