Was in the attic- curtains didn’t cover windows, very stuffy and low ceilings made it difficult, shower was barely usable due to attic ceiling. Old fashioned brown furniture and foam pillows . The bed was comfortable but due to lumpy cushions and heat barely slept. Great food choice for breakfast and great service was a plus otherwise book elsewhere. For a chain hotel it should get a refurbishment to modernise it. Shame as a great location and staff seem to care.

This hotel is dirty, doesn’t feel like it’s been cleaned properly in a very long time. It is in urgent need of needing renovating. Only positive I can take out of this is that it’s in the town. It’s a shame it’s a let down because the pub is a lovely cosy pub, however the hotel is a massive let down and I would avoid at all costs!

Very friendly welcome and delicious food. Will definitely be back in the future. We visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon when we were wondering around Cowes looking for lunch. We were greeted by lovely bar staff who showed us to the restaurant area, where we were then served by Nicki. She was friendly and attentive. We both ordered different pies and they were great. A generous portion size for a good price and tasted great! We will most definitely be visiting again.

The staff, service and welcome was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, which was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable too. Be prepared for steep stairs to access your room as this is an older property with no lift. We were on the street side so there was the inevitable Saturday night noise but earplugs sorted that out. Breakfast was very good value and there was an excellent selection including fresh fruit and cooked items to order.

Did not stay but had an evening meal. The food was delicious, I had the steak and Ruddles pie and my wife had Butternut squash and beetroot risotto. The pastry for the pie was so good. The added roasted butternut squash and beetroot on the risotto made it outstanding. Served by a lovely young lady Mimi, who was bright, cheerful and all round nice. It was without doubt the best meal we have had on the island . Would definitely recommend

We ate in the restaurant. On our second visit, Nicki and Mimi were helpful and welcoming. Food was good and reasonably priced. We had visited a few days before and chose to return as a family of five. Service was welcoming on both occasions...

The beds are so comfortable and my room was quiet and pleasant. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was exceptional, a huge choice, plenty of veggie and vegan options, beautifully cooked and presented. If you need newly painted walls, posh floors and sniffy service then go somewhere else! Add in the proximity to the Red Jet terminal and it's perfect for me and clearly many others. The history of the Fountain is in the walls and fabric of the building. It's been there a long time. So thank you Fountain, I'll be back whenever I'm in Cowes.

I cannot fault the experience the staff give us at the Fountain. Stayed here for a night out in Cowes but ended up enjoying a lovely meal and drinks at the pub. Great atmosphere and live music which added to our evening. Il definitely stay here again.

We were over on Isle of Wight for the day. Had a delicious lunch and a few beverages at The Fountain Inn. Our Waitress Nicki took such good care of us, so warm and friendly, just like the atmosphere in the pub and beer garden. Highly recommend stopping in.
