🙂 The hotel has an excellent geographical location, very close to the pier. There are supermarkets, bus stations, restaurants, etc. nearby. There is a seaside promenade at the back door of the hotel where you can take a walk and the sunset is beautiful. The room is quite spacious 😮‍💨The hotel wifi is very weak and often disconnected 😔There is a bar downstairs in the hotel which is very noisy every night Breakfast is not worth mentioning, the bread provided is not fresh not recommend 😕

We came with a large group, waited ages to be served. The staff weren't the friendliest, no smiles at all. One waitress brought the cutlery over and carelessly tossed it on the table, the staff seemed stressed which led to them being a bit rude! The cup and cutlery were dirty. We waited 50 minutes for our breakfasts, on arrival, the waitresses didn't apologise for the wait which seemed very rude. I had the avocado on toast which as you can see in the photo, was very lacking. The ketchup was out of date. We didn't complain which is our fault but we had waited so long, that we just wanted to eat and leave. I wouldn't recommend this pub for breakfast at all.

Charming traditional English pub in an excellent location. Friendly helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Great variety of good freshly cooked food and cask ales at reasonable prices. There is a large council run carpark adjacent. The area is excellent for shopping and sightseeing. Very comfortable accommodation but Room 6 and its en-suite really could do with a refurb!

After an unplanned trip to the Isle of Wight and on a very chilly afternoon we came across the Union Inn. It had a roaring open fire on which was a lovely welcome although unsurprisingly the table infant of it was occupied. All the food was good and served promptly.

My sister has already left a review which explains why we couldn’t get to Cowes last weekend - a destructive storm was totally out of our control. The owner Matt refused to move our booking but instead preferred to take the £240 for 3 rooms. Easy money for him as he had no outgoings as a result of our inability to reach Cowes. Sadly, his rude and aggressive attitude has now lost him REGULAR future bookings as well as food and drink income from a large family group. He stated that small businesses are sinking and he can’t move our booking - this is hardly surprising with his lack of business sense and vile attitude. Therefore, if anyone is looking for accommodation in Cowes, I would suggest you book elsewhere so you can receive some quality customer service

We were due to come to Cowes from the mainland to see family and unfortunately we were unable to come because of the storm. The website for Redfunnel showed the ferries and Redjet were not running due to the terrible weather so were unable to get there - it wasn’t a choice. My sister had booked this pub for us all to stay and contacted them the morning we were due to arrive to let them know that we could not get to the Island because of the storm and rather than cancelling our rooms, could we rearrange and stay in January. Matt, the manager of the Union avoided her calls (although she could hear him in the background) and when he finally answered the phone himself he was rude and aggressive and unwilling to do anything and refused to move our booking. His excuse was that he could have resold our rooms and as a small business couldn’t afford to refund us, there were rooms showing as available on the website for that night and his lack of customer service and compromise was very short sighted as we visit the island often and always need somewhere to stay. Not only has he missed out on repeat bookings but also the food and drink spend we would have spent there in January. We will certainly be saving our hard earned money for the many other worthy establishments in Cowes. Avoid at all costs unless you want to stay in an establishment that has no care for the customers, are rude and unwilling to compromise on anything.
