Yuntang Luxury Resort Hotel Dali

The hotel location is excellent and very convenient. We initially thought we’d have to pull our luggage a long way, but we were pleasantly surprised that didi (China’s taxi service) could stop right in front of the hotel! There are plenty of food options nearby, all within walking distance. I like the most is nearby north gate there got alot hotpot choice if u lazy to walk didi also within 2dollar One of the hotel’s friendly (and handsome!) staff even helped us with our luggage, and the check-in process was super quick — we were able to check in immediately. The room was just right and even had a heater, which made our stay very comfortable. For this price, getting such a cozy hotel room is definitely a great choice, especially for foreigners looking to stay near Dali Ancient Town.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Breakfast was simple yet satisfying. The staff were exceptionally helpful and assisted with our luggage, provided food recommendations, and even helped arrange a shared car to take us to Lijiang. Much appreciated!

Room is right inside the ancient town, just a few steps away from the busy streets of the ancient town. Great place to rest in. The breakfast is good too. We had the rice noodles for breakfast.

The location is so great and the didi driver can send you straight to the doorway. We stayed there for two nights and the breakfast was different for both days. We prefer the noodle soup than the porridge. They also provide unlimited mineral water for guests which is nice as the weather there is very dry.

Yuntang is near Erhai gate of the Dali ancient city so it’s easy for drivers to drop off (but the ancient city roads are very narrow and can easily get stuck in a jam). The hotel location is good as it’s accessible to a lot of shops and it’s not a far walk into the alley. Thankfully there wasn’t much noise heard in the room even though the ancient city can be very happening and loud especially at some eateries and shops. We got a free upgrade to a bigger room which is very spacious and feels like a getaway villa resort. It’s clean and comfortable, with a cute tea drinking area which can double as a place to put our luggage. The breakfast provided is homely and comforting. We were allowed to leave our luggage after checking out and sit around the 1st floor area which has a few cozy sitting spots. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

This is a lovely place. Guesthouse vibe, clean, photogenic, every detail is well designed and placed. A combination of traditional Chinese and Minimalism. The staff was lovely and helpful. I loved the open laundry room on the roof. It felt so functional, yet almost romantic.
