Nice touch of hospitality from the manager ibu Chandra. I can confirm the service extremely friendly and personalized. Smooth check in process by the reception Nilam. She greet us with warm smile eventhough we arrived in the evening. We got comfy room as requested. Clean room and the best view of Malioboro. Good location within 2 minutes walk to Malioboro Street, which is extremely popular with the locals. We stayed at this Novotel because of rave reviews mostly in Google and other sites that Malioboro street is “the place” in Jogja. But don’t expect much if you are an international /western tourist. I will write a separate review on Malioboro Street next. This review is about Novotel. It is a nice hotel. An ideal location to get started in Jogja if you’ve never been here before. We arrived late on our first night, which means we had only 1 full day in this area, which we found is more than enough in this area. I will explain why in my Malioboro Street review. We like everything about this hotel. The staff, the service, the room, the rooftop bar and swimming pool located on level 10. The best is the price. Great value for money for the 2 nights inclusive buffet breakfast, which was 2,555,501 rupiah booked through Accor. But don’t expect much from the buffet breakfast. It was limited in choice. Mostly cater for Indonesian. Good enough for a short stay.

Good location, clean rooms, pleasant staff. Breakfast buffet has good quantity but food is low quality items. Almost no cheese, no oats or porridge, no yoghurt, coffee on one day was undrinkable, juices are mostly water with syrup. You can live off it but it is not nice. Go to karta cafe next door for much better food and the Malio Gelato across the street is very good. But aside from food, all was good, staff was so polite and helpful!

The service is good, but we didn't put the sign ” Make up my room ” but the staff enter the room without our consent. We didn't request any new towels or whatever. And the toilet window style, a bit less privacy. We can see who in the toilet haha, we had to turn off the light for privacy. But if they were spouse maybe it's not a big deal. Overall, clean, comfort and nice place to stay!
