Popped in after writing the day off due to the downpour over Dartmoor. Pleasantly surprised. Pinched some seats next to the fire place and ordered some afternoon tea. Scones were warm and soft and the cream was delicious, would highly recommend. Cream tea choices were traditional, gluten free and vegan. GF hit the spot. Very comfortable seating scattered about. Outdoor space also looked peaceful with lovely scenery but too wet on the day to enjoy properly. Definitely worth a visit if in Dartmoor.

This stay was arranged as treat for me by my girlfriend. She chose the nicest suite of rooms which had plenty of place and full of old (in a nice traditional way) furniture and fittings. The room was warm and comfortable. The bed was superb! The bathroom, yes, it had a large bath (and shower) was luxurious, the water pressure very good and the water hot. When we arrived we enjoyed a drink and crisps in the lounge until our room was ready. After a walk up towards Wistman’s Wood, we had a lovely evening meal. The battered haddock was delicious and the service excellent. In the morning the breakfast in the restaurant was also excellent and the portions generous. Overall, the whole ambience and feel of our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. A lovely stress-free moment in our busy lives. Thank you to all the team!

Rude unhelpful lady who was more interested in the party than any other people. Not very accommodating and asking/ telling customers they can have a coffee or tea etc but dont be long isnt acceptable. Shame as I recommended this place having past it many times for my family however wont be doing so again. If you are unable to handle larger parties and more concerned with the party guests then close the Hotel for the day and do not open to other visitors. When speaking to someone its courteous to not just turn away and ask someone else a question

Return visit to delightful atmospheric Dartmoor hotel. Characterful rooms and public areas. The evening food offer has changed from a single menu with (many) options to a "Standard" one with limited options included in the leisure Break offer, and an upgraded "Signature" option at extra cost. On our visit, the signature option main courses were not brilliant, and not worth the extra money. A slow service and not hot dishes did not help. We understand the chef has changed, and perhaps this is a bedding in process. Hopefully the evening food offer will improve and return to previous very high standards. Overall, still a lovely destination.

What a wonderful few days away for my daughter's wedding at The Two Bridges Hotel. Such a great location out on Dartmoor - great photo opportunities for the wedding and a great place to go for a walk the next day to blow away the cobwebs. The hotel itself and our rooms were comfortable, clean and well presented, though some or the old photos were a bit creepy. The food, both in the restaurant and for during the wedding was excellent and the staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble. We all had the most incredible time and several from our party will be returning to enjoy relaxing times away in the future!?!

We stayed here for one night it was a present for my 60th we checked in about 3 15 and went to the premium room which hab not been cleaned and the bed was unmade we went back to reception and Kate apologised and while the room was sorted we had complementary drinks about 15mins later the room was ready but it wasn't we think they just made the bed the mugs were still dirty and there were no biscuits and the tray was dirty also the carpet was dirty and the radiator in the bathroom was flat out because the thermostat was broken we went back to reception they tried to fix the radiator also they offered us the bridal suite but said the door was playing up we decided to stay where we were at this point we were offered another nights stay at a latter date with two drinks each that night with our meal which we accepted. The food at dinner was really good they had a piano being played which was nice. Next morning my wife had a shower the shower holder was broken I had a bath when I turned on the bath jacuzzi part someone else's skin came out of the nozzles THE ROOM HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. We got to breakfast just after 8 and it was not all set out the lady who was in charge at dinner the night before was at best quirky but made me feel uncomfortable so we had a quick breakfast and left at checkout the lady with the red hair apologised and gave us our voucher and then a bill for drinks from the night before to cut a long story short she said Kate should not have offered us that she was rude and you need to get rid of her we didn't raise our voices or shout at any time and quickly left. I emailed the manager a week ago and have had no reply to me this is were the problem lies bad manager Kate was very helpful and tried her best the rest of the staff at best were stressed the lady at reception with the red hair was rude and the manager not replying just finished it off we have changed the voucher to stay at the sister hotel in tavistock has going back to the two bridges is out of the question

There was no table for us even though we had booked a cream tea. Had to pay extra for more water in the tea pot. No sugar - had to go to the bar and ask for it. Would have liked more cream - it was served for 6 people in one pot and had to be passed around, people afraid of taking too much.

This hotel is in a fantastic location and they clearly know it. Having booked an expensive Mothers Day Sunday lunch, we had high expectations. Arriving at 2pm for our table we were kept waiting in the lobby for over 20 minutes (with about 30 other people). It was immediately obvious that the hotel had oversold their capability. When we got to eat the food was very poor and service no better. Worse still, they forgot Mothers order so her food came 10 minutes after the rest of the party. At least they had the decency not to charge for her lunch but for £42.50 a head I expected far better. It must be such a great location, the hotel does not need returning customers.
