We booked 2 rooms for Christmas, well in advance including Christmas dinner. I was told that if I booked so early, the prices would apply. A week before we arrived I received an email that the prices for Christmas dinner were higher and that we had to pay extra, I found that inappropriate, but there was nothing that could be done about it. I think that if you make mistakes as a hotel and have accepted my booking, you should pay for it yourself. You can't do that in a shop either, buy something and say upon delivery that the price has gone up. The Christmas dinner was fine, but terribly unsociable, worst Christmas ever! Nicely decorated room, but it turned out that only 3 tables of 2 people had booked, 2 of these people had reserved a bit earlier, so only 2 tables were occupied, the rest of the hotel was empty! We found it absurd that we had not been called in advance by the hotel about the occupancy, because then we would not have gone. The rooms are good, but we didn't sleep, we had set the thermostat for the night at 16 degrees, but it remained 21 degrees, boiling hot. We thought it was the underfloor heating, but a vague story afterwards that they didn't have that, probably hot water pipes. We couldn't even handle a duvet so warm, what a misery! De Koog and the Burg were as good as closed, only a coffee bar open and that was it. This bought a lot of money, 1 night in 2 single rooms with Christmas dinner, we had tickets for a massage from the hydrojet, but upon arrival we were already told that the device was broken, that didn't happen either, an experience once but never again!

We have been coming here for years and were there for 4 days including New Year's Eve. Called in advance to see if anything special was being done for "New Year's Eve". Still nice to really get away from it all. The booking for the restaurant had to be confirmed in advance due to the number of tables. In summary, the hotel still looks the same but it is NOT the same anymore. 2 bathrobes, one of which had a broken loop and the belt of the other was missing. Bad?? No of course not, but you don't want to be chasing a belt. You want to be unburdened. The dinner (buffet) was fine in taste but had nothing to do with the experience. You had to figure out for yourself that you had to get the wine at the bar. There you are, standing at the bar with 5 people waiting for staff to come to the bar. Because there was hardly any staff. Put your hand on your glass otherwise the small amount of wine would have evaporated before you reached your table. Others who see it and say "we had the same" The second time I cautiously made a comment about it. Result the same little bit with the message that it was supposed to be like that. The warming trays were empty several times. Neither the sauces nor the warming trays did it say what it was. At one point, when we got the wine, we discovered that there were 16 people waiting because there were no tables. People dressed up for "New Year's Eve" were put away in a corner without lighting or near the piano where the keys were on. "Can I come through for you?" For some who joined a little later, there was actually nothing left. Asked about it when leaving. The receptionist indicated that it had indeed not gone completely well, but there were also so many last-minute bookings. How then?? if you have no tables and too few to serve. Why such a long story? Well, simply because we think it is a shame for what it was and if it stays like this, people will drop out. No misunderstanding. Every concept has a revenue model at its basis. I am the last person you will hear about that. But especially in the catering industry the trick is to "cover up" this and to pamper people so that you don't see and register everything.

Not the Greenside it used to be... The service, the food and breakfast, if you come for the first time, then it is now a good 3 star hotel... But if you come as a loyal guest, it is a disappointment... staff does its best, Restaurant Wambinge is no longer there, you can eat there but a 3 course menu, no more menu, no wine list, food is good, also at breakfast pre-baked rolls instead of the real bakery, enough choice in terms of toppings etc..... our corner in the conservatory was closed... seating at the bar minimal, not inviting to sit down and no more service constantly present... looking around to see if someone can help... Rooms are good as it was... Reception has become a jack of all trades, lady in service, does a good job, but poor Dutch... does not understand all English is better... sometimes the reception helps out... But also at reception often no one to ask anything etc.... e.g. whether the sauna can be turned on.. Conclusion now a hotel but no more Greenside....

Don't expect a Boutique-like atmosphere or appearance and okay, the average age of the guests was 65+, but what a top hotel. Very nice staff both at check-in and check-out. We had a large room with a sitting area, wonderful beds, excellent bathroom with jacuzzi, refrigerator, safe, TV, etc. The hotel's location is excellent (2, 3 minutes walk from the center). Sufficient free parking space at the hotel and a covered bicycle shed. Delicious, very extensive breakfast buffet. In short, no negative points, just maybe the room fan that sounds a bit loud. Absolutely recommended.

Hotel Greenside is highly recommended. We always book a garden room, a nice spacious and not unimportantly very clean room with terrace and perfect beds and coffee and tea in the room. A quite extensive breakfast and very friendly employees. We have been there for years in a row and hope to return often.

In September 2020 we stayed at the Hotel Greenside for the first time on our honeymoon. Since then we have been going there every year for a few days on our wedding anniversary. The staff has always been very friendly, the rooms spacious and very clean. The breakfast buffet has always been plentiful and attractively presented. We are already looking forward to September 2023. Of course we have already booked ;)

We booked a two-night stay in a Luxury Room with Balcony. The room was spacious, neat and modern so we were very happy with it. The hotel has free parking spaces and two chargers for electric cars, one for Tesla and one universal that charges at 3 kWh. The breakfast was well prepared and there was a wide choice. However, the wellness was quite limited; the Turkish steam bath had a technical problem, and other than that there was only a normal sauna and infrared sauna. For a room of €210 per night, it would have been nice if a bottle of drinking water had been provided in the minibar.

Excellent and beautiful hotel in a quiet location just outside the center. Friendly staff and happy to help. The room was neat and clean and well equipped, the beds are fine! We were informed in advance that the restaurant was closed due to a lack of staff after corona, but there are plenty of options to eat out within a 5-minute walk! The bar was open and you could sit and have a drink. The breakfast is great!! Sauna was nice and looks beautiful! The floor was very slippery and we almost slipped in the showers with wet feet, so that could have been better! We stayed 1 night!
