Deqin Meili GY Banshan Homestay truly lives up to its name - your HOME-STAY away from home. All the staff are like your long lost friends, who earnestly take care of this cozy establishment like their own home.
During our stay all our needs have been promptly met and then some. Expectations exceeded and mind blown. A uniquely memorable experience leaving you feeling warm and fuzzy. Wholeheartedly recommend!!
Thank you ZhenBai, Tang, the young lady & gentlemen at front desk and the friendly aunties who work tirelessly behind the scene, in the kitchen & housekeeping. We stay 2nights at GY it was a very enjoyable stay. Arrived in the evening n was pleasantly surprised by the mesmerising view of Meilishan.
Our stay includes a sumptuous breakfast in the morning an afternoon coffee and cakes as well as free drinks and snacks served at night between 8-10pm. Staffs were really very friendly n prompt in their services. Always getting out of their way to make us feel welcome n happy. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Perfect location and friendly staffs. Perfect Meili Mountain View right from your room. If you don’t want to leave your room, you don’t have to the entire time you are there. Dinner is also very good. Good taste and presentation. Actually the best in the entire Shangri-La area.

Room was great and comfortable. Smart Functions were good such as the automatic curtains, toilet, lights etc.
Breakfast was also really good! Perfect views of the 日出金山 from the room as well!

Pros:
- Amazing view of Meili snow mountains from both the room and rooftop, and free tripods provided at both places for phototaking!
- Decent afternoon tea and night soup provided. Breakfast was quite filling too.
- Room was really spacious, sound-proof, and well insulated from the winter cold.
- Service was generally good.
Cons:
- Could have provided free streaming services for Projector, given the high cost of the hotel. Couldnt enjoy watching movies without paying extra.

Extraordinary location with a viewing platform at the top of the hotel, unblocked with multiple tripods provided for you to capture the sunrise. Breakfast was one of the best i had in yunnan as well.

The hotel is located right at the viewing platform. There is a lot of construction going on, and the scenery is not very appealing aside from the view on the mountains. The room faced the construction site. The hotel owner is service minded and friendly.

Most of the guest who booked this hotel probably going for the sunrise on meili snow mountain. The location and view from this hotel is perfect for the sunrise (only when the skies is clear so checking the forecast in advance ). Hence, you will encounter noises as early as 5am where people will drive and stop along the road right infront of your hotel. At 6 in the morning, you can be sure that you are not alone by looking down the road and you can see there will be full of cars and people downstairs. Surrounding of the hotel have basically nothing. Be sure you prepared what you need before you check in. The staffs there are very friendly, helpful and approachable.
