"The room was very cozy, the toiletries and furnishings were very tasteful, the meals were satisfying, the boss was very nice, and provided various services and information attentively, allowing us to experience the most wonderful trip in Yubeng Village. The most amazing thing was to see the golden mountain in the morning when I opened the curtains, which was unforgettable. The horse rental master that the boss helped to contact was very enthusiastic, and he accompanied us all the way and talked and laughed. We must come again."
"🏡 Cizhong is a small village that is quiet and easy to be ignored by travelers. However, this is a legend on the banks of the Lancang River. Chinese and Western cultures and different religions collide and merge here, and finally be brewed into a mellow wine with time.
💕 Songzanz Zhongshan Ju - two two-story Tibetan stone and wooden structure small buildings are surrounded by mountains and waters, leaning on the white tower and the master statue of Lotus Peanuts at the head of the village, looking at the Lancang River Canyon and Cizhong Catholic Church from afar. The interior design of the mountain house integrates the characteristics of China and the West: both the implicit and simple Oriental beauty, but also show the traces of the old-fashioned European aesthetic.
📸 The most attractive ones are old photos that hang in corners and fall from the National Geographic headquarters in the United States, and these silver, salt, black and white photos truthfully record life on this land a hundred years ago.
🍚 Three meals a day and afternoon tea are extremely exquisite. A small vegetable garden is opened next to the hotel, and a variety of vegetables are dazzling; rose honey grapes are also planted, row after row, small and cute.
👍🏻 During the stay, there were mainly two sisters in charge of all ours (no name asked, a little regret), be sure to praise! They always smile and treat people with enthusiasm, absolutely 100% service. The supervisor sister also promised to help send postcards, great!"
"The first stop of this trip was to stay at Songtsam Green Valley, the first hotel of Mr. Baima, the founder of Songtsam. Then we went to Songtsam Meili Mountain Residence, which had a superb cloud-top experience. After going down the mountain, we continued to stay at the third Songtsam Hotel of this trip, Songtsam Benzilan, which had a fresh countryside feel. The three hotels have their own characteristics, and the services and facilities are equally great. They are quiet, private, and have excellent scenery and location!"

"It's such a big yard, with small bridges, flowing water, and scattered flowers and trees. I climbed up the steps and entered the hall. I was stunned by its magnificence. What you can hear in the room is the sound of rushing water. The bed is a Tibetan-style high bed, and the table in the middle is quite interesting, where you can put things.
The disadvantage is that the bathroom is not of high quality and there is no dry and wet separation. On the day we checked in, the water was very turbid and we did not dare to use it for washing. The boss said it was because the town was repairing water pipes. However, the boss was very enthusiastic and gave us a lot of mineral water. We could pick fruits in the yard and eat fruits and snacks on the table. Their dried apples are delicious😊. For ******* breakfast, the boss taught us how to make tsampa."
"I have to give this hotel a good review. I just came out of Yubeng and came across such a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The room is very big. The hotel is new. Everything is very new. The TV didn’t even have to remove the plastic film. The air conditioner is powerful. The boss is also very considerate. There is a small courtyard that is very unique. Overall, I am very satisfied. The only inconvenient thing is that you have to go up a flight of stairs. If you have a suitcase, you can call the boss to carry it! !"
"The service was very good. As soon as we entered the store, a lady poured us ginger tea. The floor heating in the room was very warm, even a little hot, so the temperature had to be lowered. It was about a few minutes' walk from Feilai Temple. Because it was Spring Festival when we left the store, the lady also gave us a small red envelope"
"The rooms are spacious and bright, the beds are comfortable, the environment is quiet, the lighting is good, the living is very comfortable, the hotel is fully equipped, the newly renovated room has no taste, the hotel lobby feels very refreshing, the boss is very enthusiastic to introduce us to the route into Tibet, the service is very good. The restaurant's dishes are very rich and taste good. I have lived in the most cost-effective hotel in Tibet and highly recommend this hotel."
"Originally booked for the beautiful view of the snow mountain, but unexpectedly unlocked a lot of surprises! When I opened the door, I was shocked by the terrace facing the snow mountain. The pure snow top was covered with silver in the sun, and the healing power was full! What is even more surprising is the hotel's rich activity experience: Tibetan cultural extension, hand-made Tibetan incense, tea making in the stove, etc., even provide Tibetan clothes, you can ask the housekeeper in the store to help take pictures, it is really too much film ~ The room has floor heating, humidifier, and smart toilet. Also prepared a rich mini bar snack drink, I have to say that the room also provides free masks, the staff is warm and thoughtful, and also received a souvenir when leaving the store, not only a stay, but also an immersive snow cultural trip, highly recommended!"
"First of all, the Z hotel service is super good, in addition to the regular waiters, there are butlers on the floor, and it is simply a nanny-style service. Secondly, the room is diffused oxygen supply, and you can adjust the altitude suitable for your needs according to your actual needs. The floor heating temperature of the room is moderate. The room is spacious and exquisite. The pool in the room is warm. You can see the Menzm Peak in the 13th Peak of Meili on the rooftop. South of the rooftop, you can see the panoramic view of Baimang Snow Mountain, a cost-effective hotel in Deqin"
"The main reason for booking was because the hotel is right on the Lancang River at an altitude of only 2,100 meters, which can avoid altitude sickness. There are Yubeng Village, Mingyong Glacier, Feilai Temple, etc. in the surrounding area. The room is very hygienic, the bed is just the right size, and there are large floor-to-ceiling windows. When Bingzhongluo arrived at the hotel via the Degong Highway, it was raining and there was a cloud and mist outside the window. After resting on the bed for a while, I looked out the window again and saw that the clouds opened and the Kawagbo Snow Mountain was right in front of me! ! ! There are still no suitable words to describe the excitement at that time. Go sit down on the hotel's viewing platform, make a cup of tea, and just quietly look at the snow-capped mountains, glaciers, Lancang River, and the large vineyards near the hotel. The boss said that if we come in August, grapes and other fruits will be ripe, but now the grapes are still too sour. For dinner, I ordered fried pork with mushrooms and vegetables from my own field. They were very delicious. It was the most relaxing and joyful day during the self-driving trip on the circular route in northwest Yunnan. The hotel bathroom has an automatic toilet, which may have been upgraded later. It feels a bit high."

Perfect
MmailcoThe hotel is in a good location. I originally wanted to stay in the first store, which is under renovation. There are many guests in the second store. Generally speaking, the service is quite different from that of Wunongding. A good luxury resort hotel depends on whether the staff treats guests from the heart. There is no refrigerator in the room. Although the drinks are placed in the public area, it always feels a bit strange. Most people who come to Yubeng come to hike. I heard the foot bath bucket from the table next to me when I was having dinner. I clearly told the housekeeper that I had walked for nine hours that day, but I didn’t see it mentioned. Of course, it was delivered quickly after I asked. The hotel provides cleaning and shoe brushing services, and provides a lot of hiking equipment rental.
The lack of service lies in how to serve guests at this price, whether the smile is from the heart, and whether to think about the problem from the customer's perspective.
During the meal in the restaurant, the guests at the next table wanted to add a dish of hot sauce. The waiter directly replied that the kitchen was off work. There was no way. I was stunned. As long as the guests are still in the restaurant, they don’t have to cook a new dish. Praise the service staff of the bar on the third floor, they are still very enthusiastic. I really recommend learning about the service of the company. Design and hardware are important, but service is the real soft power. It is irreplaceable.
GGlobetrotter & HikerWe highly recommend staying in Yolo Guesthouse if you are staying overnight at Upper Yubeng Village. The owner and staff of the guesthouse was very friendly, helpful and informative throughout our stay.
We connected through WeChat prior to arrival and liaised with the guesthouse for transport from Lower Yubeng to upper Yubeng. The transport was included in the reservation. On arrival in the afternoon, the staff introduced and escorted us to a nearby restaurant for lunch even though it was drizzling.
The guesthouse is strategically located to have views of the valley downstream and upstream. The building structure is sturdy and well designed compared to many other accommodations in the villages. The interior of the room and the rooftop coffee bar is beautifully designed and clean. They also have Dyson hairdryer and Smeg electric kettle. Coffee at the rooftop bar was decent but it was accompanied by amazing views of the valley. We were the only ones at the rooftop bar after check in and we also had their in-house hotpot at night which we enjoyed.
Prior to departing for our day hike (Glacier lake from Upper Yubeng Village) the next day, the guesthouse even provided hiking poles, crampons, bottled water, Red Bull canned drinks and a homely ham and egg sandwich. We were also allowed to leave our bags stored with them as we had to check out in the late afternoon after returning from the hike. After checkout, the guesthouse also helped to call a vehicle to transport us down to lower Yubeng village.
We wished we had stayed here longer throughout our trip to Yubeng. We felt very welcomed and had a memorable stay. Thank you so much!
XXianshengliThe hotel I randomly selected when traveling to Meili Snow Mountain is really worth it!
It is near Feilai Temple in Meili Snow Mountain, Shangri-La
The guest rooms are facing the snow mountain, and you can feel the beauty of Baima Snow Mountain in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows without leaving your room!
It is also equipped with a bathtub in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, so you can take a bath while watching the snow mountain, which is so cool!
The rooms are equipped with floor heating and diffuse oxygen supply equipment
If you bring your parents here, you don’t have to worry about altitude sickness at all.
Dry and wet separation bathroom, smart toilet, and even Bulgari toiletries set
It is highly recommended for family travel and couples dating! !
AAnonymous UserFrom the moment we arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary stay—it was an experience touched with thoughtfulness, serenity, and care. We were graciously upgraded to a room that offered an uninterrupted view of the majestic Meili Snow Mountain, allowing us to take in its quiet grandeur from the comfort of our own space. It was a gesture that did more than offer convenience—it created a sense of peace that stayed with us throughout our time there.
The service staff were nothing short of extraordinary. With every interaction, they brought warmth, grace, and a genuine desire to make us feel at home. Their quiet attentiveness and heartfelt hospitality added so much depth to the stay, turning each moment into something memorable.
This is a place that leaves a mark on your heart. I will miss it dearly and carry the memories with me until I return again. I look forward not only to my next visit, but also with great anticipation to discovering their new estate in 雨棚, which I’m sure will be equally enchanting.
GGuest UserThe room is beautifully designed with advanced built in technology such as diffused oxygen supply and floor heating, with a great direct view to the snowy mountains.
There are many home stays nearby that offers the same Mountain View. We paid a premium to stay here, not only for the Mountain View, but also for the supposed services and daily activities that the hotel advertised on social media.
Unfortunately the service level is almost non existent, the breakfast area is easily overpacked. The staffs even asked me to share a four people table with a couple during breakfast. I am not paying USD500 per night so I can share a dining table with strangers with no privacy.
We joined the sound healing experience which was held at 9pm (on the contrary to most other sound healing experiences I had, which is usually in the morning). The sound healing experience was held in the meditation room, which is located right above the Bar. Naturally, during the sound healing experience I heard mostly loud speakers playing APT and other loud music, with some light bowl singing sound.
The dinner was the worst I have had during my 9 days trip in Yunnan. The afternoon tea on level 5 (Bar area) was strangely arranged with all guests cramped next to each other and hunched over the low table where snacks are placed.
The hotel claims to have the top hotel room design and provides top end appliances in all the rooms, including HERMES toiletries, a B&O speaker, and Dyson hairdryer. The staffs introduced the room with great enthusiasm and pride on the small design details.
Although, after 2nights in the hotel, I left feeling the hotel is nothing but an empty shell with no soul.
I will not come back to this hotel again
CClaudiaVERY DISAPPOINTING!
Overall: The inn is nice and confortable but the service is terrible. Service made us feel very unwelcome and ruined the experience.
Room: humble but comfortable room. You can ask for a heater, which is very needed in the winter months (we stayed here in late November). Be aware that some rooms are marked as “Mountain View” but in fact you’re in a covered area so won’t really have a view (pictures attached) - we booked one of these rooms but since it was low season we were lucky to get a free upgrade and get one of the few rooms with a nice view.
Cleanliness: the rooms are relatively clean, but we had a mouldy shower curtain (see pictures).
Amenities: the restaurant / front desk area is very nice and cosy.
Service: terrible! Every time we needed their assistance it felt as if we were disturbing them from sitting by the fire (even though they barely had any customers and it seemed as if they were not busy at all). We are international traveler’s that don’t speak Chinese and the service was unhelpful and not welcoming. We’ve had no issues anywhere else in our trip in China, this was definitely the worst we have experienced. After reading other reviews it seems that the boss is very helpful, but he wasn’t there when we stayed at the inn and it appears that the workers don’t do a good job when he is not around. The workers didn’t advise us that we needed crampons for one of the hikes we did (hikers from other inns told us that these were a must) so we had to reluctantly stay one more night to complete the hike.
When we booked another night, one service member told us a price and another service person told us a different (lower, almost 100cny lower) price. We were then charged the first (higher) price, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The day after when we tried to rent crampons from the inn the lady told us that it was 20 cny to rent per day, and that in other places it was 40 cny per day. We decided not to rent them because they looked in very bad condition. We later found out that you can buy them brand new at “meets meili snow mountain” for 35cny and use them for the 2 hikes. We also had to rent hiking poles even though they provide them for free at the hotel given that the ones they had didn’t look in good condition and weren’t tall enough for us (the lady at the desk got frustrated with us because of this).
Overall, very unhelpful, impatient service - we felt extremely uncomfortable because of it. If you’re an international traveller and don’t speak much Chinese stay away!!
Food: was good but small portions compared to other places. We ended up eating most of our meals elsewhere because the service made us feel very unwelcome. Limited breakfast options, there’s many more options at “meets meili snow mountain”.
JjshanghaiWe stayed at the Wake Up Mountain Hotel in June 2024 for a week. The Hotel is wonderful. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are excellent, and the view from the windows of the mountains is fantastic. The Hotel also has a viewing area (and a bar) on the roof, providing the best sunrise view of the entire region's mountains. The restaurant has a great menu and excellent food; it is the best restaurant in the area. Finally, the staff Wenwen and others are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They arranged car and driver tours for us to travel around the area and addressed our requests. Excellent stay. They are highly recommended. Ken and Jacqueline
LLondonChrisCould not eat the breakfast. It was totally western - dairy products, fried egg and meat. Very bright lights all night outside. Adjacent to main road, but not very busy. English name written very small, Chinese name is 梅里往事 Pinyin name is meili wangshi. Room nice and warm, balcony, great view, but better from a couple of hotels further down the road. Binoculars in the room was a very nice touch. Directly opposite the focal point of the town (viewing platform and area where the bus terminates).
RRosa09As one of the rare solo travelers to Meilin, our check-in process took a little longer than usual since the staff wasn’t entirely familiar with handling overseas guests (They probably wasn't used to seeing non-locals HAHA). That said, they were extremely accommodating—they kindly invited us to rest in our room first and even enthusiastically helped carry our (very heavy) luggage upstairs. Despite our late arrival around 10 PM, the staff patiently waited for us and assisted in unloading our bags from the car, which we greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself was clean and cozy. Our room was spacious and well-heated, including a warm bathroom that was a real comfort in the chilly weather. Water pressure and hot water was good. While our booking was for three people, the room was initially stocked with toiletries for two—but this was quickly resolved with a simple call to the front desk.
A standout feature was the smart AI assistant (Xiao Du) in the room, which was perfect for those who enjoy convenience—controlling lights and music hands-free was a nice touch. Location-wise, the hotel is well-situated, just a short 15-minute walk to Feilai Temple. The photos on Trip were accurate, and while there wasn't a strong mountain view from our room, it didn’t detract from the overall pleasant experience.
Overall, the hotel offered great service, comfort, and convenience, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area.
GGuest UserYourland Hotel is run and operated by a very hard working lady who essentially does everything herself - from welcoming guests, cooking breakfast, cleaning the rooms and washing the bed sheets & laundry. The rooms are very clean and neatly organised, it has all the comforts that any hiker should need in such a remote location that is high up in the mountains (e.g. electric blankets, warm showers, etc.) Please do note that the warm water does need sometime to reheat especially if another guest takes a shower right away after the first guest. It will not be sufficient time for the water heating machine to heat the water. You should take note of the number that is displayed on the water heater. By default in our room, it showed the number of 44 and after the first guest took the shower, it went down to 19. If someone takes a shower right away at that moment, it will be cold so the next person should wait a bit until the number displayed moves up.
The views in the morning are amazing as you can see the mountain ranges on three different sides so you get a very good panoramic view from the terrace of the hotel. After a long day of hiking, our moods were lightened up when we were welcomed by the friendly and playful Labrador Retriever whose name is Dou Dou. Such a lovely dog <3. I would recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a place to stay in Upper Yubeng, it's good base for your planned hikes to the Glacier Lake and Nise Ranch. The place might be a bit difficult to locate if you arrive in Yubeng late at night (like we did since we walked all the way from Ninong, which was really tiring), but once you get the gist of it, it's very easy to remember and locate.
