Our first stop on our road trip through Northern Europe and Scandinavia. The owner/manger was very welcoming and we were shown to a lovely spacious room. I have never stayed where there was such a large bathroom, huge bath and separate shower. The bed was very comfortable too. We had dinner there and chose to eat outside as it was a lovely evening. It was extremely busy even though it was a Thursday so suggest you book.Breakfast was very good too, plenty of choice and the waitress asked us if we wanted any eggs etc. This was our first stop but will always be my favourite and would love to return here to this great hotel and town.

Very comfortable room, large bathroom, excellent cleaning. There are no toiletries, only soap in the dispensers. There is no safe. Very courteous staff. A little disorganized at breakfast: you had to wait for the tables to be cleaned because there were few tables available as the tables were all for four, usually occupied only by couples. Also on Monday morning finding both hot drink machines out of order was annoying. However I recommend it, all in all I am satisfied.

Very sweet and clean apartment in the middle of the city. Including complete equipment. Clean and feel well. Very quiet, since no car traffic is available, but super central for it. Whether Bistros, sticks, restaurant or ice pieces, everything is available in a few minutes. Breakfast in the hotel is really recommendable. We had a telephone question before and were already excited by the nice voice at the other end of the phone. We would certainly book again! Thank you for the nice stay in Detmold.

I had ordered a single room and got a real single room with single bed in the 2nd floor (without a drive chair). The floor and the walls are renovated. Unfortunately, furniture is older for example and should be repaired once. Something nervous: The ground crashed when walking. However, it is an old workshop under monumental protection. In the bathroom something nerved that there was no shower gel/shampoo, but only hand soap also for the shower. Something stupid to enter the shower cabin: the construction of the shower cabin. Also unpractically the location of the reserve toilet paper roll. In the staircase you properly smell the kitchen. Breakfast was ”nice”. Certain articles are available only as an additional reward (caffee specialities such as cappuccino or mirrors/rooster eggs). Very nice: I received lactose-free milk on request. Very nice: the house made marmalades. I had dinner yet tonight. It was made a salad with chickens for me. I'm not sure if it was at my Post-Covid-19-Folge: but I felt some of the salad as extremely salty and other (kids) I missed the salt or overlayed by the thymian. A arrangement for parking is available in the Lustgarten/Theater. Very cheap to park here as a hotel guest. However, you have to walk there for 10 minutes.

Direkt in der Detmolder Innenstadt mit seinen idyllischen Gassen und Fachwerkhäusern gelegen. Aber Achtung, es gibt das Hotel und verschiedene Appartements vom Anbieter. Bewertet hier wird das zentrale Hotel. Das Hotel selbst ist in historischem Gebäude, wurde aber komplett modernisiert/kernsaniert. Wir hatten ein Komfort Appartement (Nr. 9 empfehlenswert) im Dachgeschoss - modern, gross und geschmackvoll, sehr schön ! Fast alles in der Innenstadt, incl. Cafés und Restaurants ist in 5-10 Minuten fussläufig erreichbar. Ausser dem täglichen Zimmerservice und der zeitweise eingeschränkt besetzen Rezeption gibt es keinen Service. Die Beurteilung stammt noch aus Korona-Zeiten, und mittlerweile gibt es wieder eine Rezeption. Richtig ist aber immer noch, dass das Hotel schöne Zimmer bietet verbunden mit ansonsten low to no extra service. Heisst: Hotel-Restaurant, Mini-Bar, etc. gibt es nicht. Das ist aber auch nicht notwendig, es ist ein modernes Stadtkonzept, bei der Lage, Architektur, Design und Wohlfühlfaktor alles ausmachen. Perfekt umgesetzt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

It is not easy to find a hotel in a foreign city where everything is right. But we managed to find the Elisabeth Hotel in Detmold! The location in the centre is ideal, the room is relatively large, modernly furnished and very clean, breakfast is delicious, the staff is very friendly and welcome ... - So everything is perfect! In fact, we wanted to stay just one night. But as we liked it so well, we have extended it to two nights. And we would go back there anytime.
