This is the fourth hotel we've stayed in at Diani Beach, of its price range, and was the best experience across every category. For anyone wanting hotel peace and quiet, quality and excellent service, this is it. All of the staff, whatever their job, are friendly, helpful and efficient. The management discourages tips as it favours the front-of-house at the expense of those working behind the scenes. Instead the management operates a bonus scheme for all its staff, based on customer reviews. This not only adds to customer relaxation throughout the stay, but is a fairer way of doing things. We fully supported management's dress code policy of elegant dining.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel is a gem. The venue exudes class and gives a wonderful nod to the charm of old-style hotels, blending timeless elegance with modern comfort. Even in its simplicity, it stands out among many newer establishments. I was especially touched by the attention to detail. The hotel staff had noticed that I celebrated my birthday the day before we arrived, and to my surprise, they greeted me with a beautiful cake and a thoughtful celebration. The cake itself was absolutely delicious—such a delightful surprise! While I’d love to mention each individual by name, with over 100 dedicated staff members, I want to ensure everyone receives recognition. So, I’ve broken it down by departments: Bar & Restaurant: Always attentive, friendly, and professional. Kitchen: Exceptional food that always exceeded expectations. Guest Relations: Warm, welcoming, and made us feel at home from day one. Security: Felt completely safe and secure throughout our stay. Gardens: Beautifully maintained, providing a peaceful environment. Maintenance: Ensured everything was in perfect condition. Pool: Immaculately clean and a perfect place to relax. Concierge: Helpful and informative, always making sure our needs were met. Housekeeping: Top-notch cleanliness and service every day. Accounts: Seamless transactions and excellent customer care. Stores: Well-stocked and convenient for guests. Laundry: Efficient service with quick turnarounds. Boutique: Unique and beautiful items to remember our stay. One of the best hotels I've visited in the Kenyan coast. Quite private, quiet, well furnished and beautiful. We stayed over a week and was worth it to the very end. The food was delicious, including the dinner buffet which they change everyday. The views and facilities were exquisite. Special thank you to Mwanarusi, Aisha and Hamisi for making our stay more special, splendid and warm. Keep up the good job Ocean Village. The whole team went above and beyond, in the true Kenyan spirit and hospitality!

Very nice, clean and safe hotel near Mombasa. Beautiful spot for asukts. Nice beach, good enough pool. Room was spacious and food very good. Staff speaks good english and the service was excellent. They informed us not to give tips to the staff, because they get a monthly extra payment from the hotel. Only minus was the wifi, not working toi well.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. From the food, rooms, beach, cleanliness to the friendliness of the staff our stay here truly was wonderful. They are also very transparent about all the additional cost. The no tipping policy makes the stay much less stressful. The prices at the restaurant are very afordable and all the food and drinks that we had were very good. All in all we give it a 10/10!

We stayed for a week as part of our honeymoon in the first week of January. The room was gorgeous, bed was very comfortable. The location is excellent, right on a white sandy beach that is very quiet throughout the day. It is under the flight path of the local airport but we didn’t find the three flights a day had a negative impact on our stay. The real reason this place is special is because of the fantastic people who work here. The chefs are great and we’re happy to make dishes on request as I’m vegan and there often weren’t plant based options on the normal menu. After a couple of days i worked out it would be best after breakfast to take a look at the evening’s menu options and request a vegan version of another dish which worked to not put pressure on the kitchen. The breakfast was a gorgeous buffet that changed every day. My partner enjoyed the omelette and pancake station and I enjoyed the Prosecco. You can also have oysters, a continental, full cooked breakfast and local dishes. All the staff were incredibly hospitable and you can sit just a few metres away from the beach. The gardens were impeccably kept. The little notes on the trees on their names and uses was a lovely touch. The place was teeming with wildlife making sitting out on the mini terrace in front of each of the rooms an interesting experience! The hotel has a little private ‘beach’ with the actual beach in front. The palms provide some shade if you want it and the drinks service flows throughout the day.
