According to my reservation, I spent six nights at Auberge Boulaos. And - unfortunately - this was the worst experience ever. From the beginning, the receptionists kept asking for a higher amount than listed on my reservation. Instead of 45 USD per night, they asked for 63 USD per night. After a phone call with their supervisor, they were willing to reduce the room rate to 55 USD per night - i.e. 330 USD instead of 270 USD for the entire stay of six nights. They explained that their prices had been modified two days before. If you look at other travellers’ reviews, however, you’ll realize that this was a lie. I found three reviews which referred to the same problem. The following days, the receptionists have been quite rude. Even though I had paid the total amount of 270 USD, they kept asking for an additional fee of 60 USD. Several times, they switched off the AC so that I had to come down to the reception, where the same topic came up again and again. In order to avoid a negative review and to get some additional money, they even claimed that I didn’t show up. They cancelled my reservation and asked for a compensation. In the end, they didn’t allow me to leave the hotel. When I tried to get to the main road (about 400 meters away) in order to find a taxi, three staff members followed me. One of them started holding and pushing me!!! He tried to take my suitcase! I called for help when I reached the nearby shopping center. A policeman came out in order to protect me. I showed him my reservation and the bill of 270 USD. He called a taxi so that I managed to escape from the hotel. I hope no other traveller will have to make a similar experience at Auberge Boulaos in future.
