Penmaenuchaf Hotel

We’ve been visiting Penmaenuchaf for years, to eat or to stay. This April we were in the area so booked lunch. The building is always beautiful but has been stunningly renovated and ‘interior-designed’ by the new owners. The lunch was - what can I say? - exquisite. And at a reasonable price. Every course was a delight. Full marks to the chef! The cocktails were also excellent.

We had an incredible, luxurious two-night stay at Penmanuchaf as part of our honeymoon. The building and the grounds are beautiful and our room was huge, well-appointed, and had a great view. It is clear how much work the team does to keep the building, grounds, and rooms themselves in such great shape. Our room was spotless and full of great small decor touches, including some really beautiful wood furniture and a comfortable bed. The rest of our experience was also wonderful. The staff were consistently kind and attentive, and they clearly took interest in everything that made the building and the location special. The restaurant is fantastic - the food is delicious and the service is great. We had the tasting menu both nights and it was full of impressive dishes that were thoughtfully explained by the staff. Our experience each night was on par with or better than any number of fine-dining restaurants in large cities around the world. Having such a great dining experience, but with incredible local produce and in a beautiful rural area is really something special.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel last week. The property has undergone a complete refurbishment recently and the results are remarkable. Every space, public area's and bedroom's, are beautiful, tasteful and absolutely stunning. Service is superb, friendly, discreet and very professional. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast, the food is simply outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the Barmouth lobster and the monkfish, beef ( locally sourced according to our server } was also amazing. Bedrooms are super comfy with high class toiletries to enjoy. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, and we can't wait to return.

Excellent in every way. Will be back next year This is our 3rd time at Penmaenuchaf since last year it has been greatly improved but the main thing is how lovely the staff are The food was amazing and all together we had a great time

We eat on a regular basis. The food and service is truly outstanding and that’s why we probably go back time and time again. It’s amazing value for money. Keep up the good work.. they’ve just finished a refurb of the bar and it looks much better with better tables for you to eat at rather than the low ones that were their previously.

Spectacular food, friendly and thoughtful staff, in beautiful surroundings. The decor is luxurious but contemporary and not stuffy. There’s also lots to do and see in the area, with spectacular scenery. We will definitely be back as soon as we can!
