Penmaenuchaf Hotel

We’ve been visiting Penmaenuchaf for years, to eat or to stay. This April we were in the area so booked lunch. The building is always beautiful but has been stunningly renovated and ‘interior-designed’ by the new owners. The lunch was - what can I say? - exquisite. And at a reasonable price. Every course was a delight. Full marks to the chef! The cocktails were also excellent.

Such a special place with wonderful friendly service. Throughly enjoyed every minute. We stayed in Mawddach, a stunning junior suite in the eves of the hotel. Sweeping views across the valley with gorgeous grounds. The tasting menu was out of this world especially the monkfish and the lamb. We can’t wait to return.

We had an incredible, luxurious two-night stay at Penmanuchaf as part of our honeymoon. The building and the grounds are beautiful and our room was huge, well-appointed, and had a great view. It is clear how much work the team does to keep the building, grounds, and rooms themselves in such great shape. Our room was spotless and full of great small decor touches, including some really beautiful wood furniture and a comfortable bed. The rest of our experience was also wonderful. The staff were consistently kind and attentive, and they clearly took interest in everything that made the building and the location special. The restaurant is fantastic - the food is delicious and the service is great. We had the tasting menu both nights and it was full of impressive dishes that were thoughtfully explained by the staff. Our experience each night was on par with or better than any number of fine-dining restaurants in large cities around the world. Having such a great dining experience, but with incredible local produce and in a beautiful rural area is really something special.

During our holiday in Wales, we spent one night at this accommodation. The location is very good. The accommodation is located outside the town in a very quiet area and is surrounded by meadows and forests. Our room was large and very comfortable. The entire accommodation is very well maintained and everything is very clean. The staff are all very nice and attentive. Definitely eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was very delicious. All in all, the accommodation was an unforgettable wonderful experience. We felt very comfortable in the accommodation and can highly recommend it.

Excellent in every way. Will be back next year This is our 3rd time at Penmaenuchaf since last year it has been greatly improved but the main thing is how lovely the staff are The food was amazing and all together we had a great time

Just home from a wonderful two day break at Penmaenuchaf Hotel. The service was exemplary. Very friendly and courteous staff. Nothing too much bother. Rooms furnished to an extremely high standard. Eclectic posh I’d call them!! And food excellent. Five stars all round we’d say. And yes we’ll be back. Kate and Jeff
