Absolute hidden gem in North West Devon, accommodation is very comfortable and the French owner/chef produces excellent and reasonably priced food. It’s slightly off the main tourist trail but the quality of food is well worth the journey.

I had supper and stayed the night. It was a busy Friday evening but as a sole diner I didn't feel neglected at all. The Copper bitter was a great start. The food was fantastic, Moules Mariniere with hunks of fresh home made bread, an outstanding sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and a sticky toffee pud. Nothing fussy but a beautifully cooked tasty meal.

A lovely village pub in a pretty village. My room was clean and comfortable, everything you need with a bath and shower combination. Dinner was excellent, and I'd definitely ask for a table in the bar if want a great buzzing atmosphere. It was an amazing breakfast, all locally sourced and beautifully cooked, perhaps the cereal selection could be a bit more extensive! It is how you would want your local village pub to be - everyone in the bar seemed to know each other with the bonus of great food if you wanted to eat. But, as a solo traveler on this occasion, to be honest I felt rather out of the clique having a drink at the bar when I arrived. Probably just me, but I'd say it's a place to stay as a couple or with fiends.

We went here for dinner. Throughly enjoyed it. I had rack of lamb with mash potato cooked perfectly. My husband had game pie with mash very meaty the perfect pie. Dessert was also very enjoyable. The service was friendly and efficient. Lovely find on our weekend break.

What a fabulous find the Ram Head, stayed a night to meet up with friend. Both double rooms were charming with up today ensuite. We had amazing meals the beef steak just melted in your mouth and cooked to perfection - the best I have eaten for a very long time. The mackerel starter was fresh and the bread home baked. We did not have room for puddings. Moving on to the breakfast there was an excellent choice to choose from and the staff were all were delightful. We will definitely be going back.

We visited as a group of 4 friends for evening meal. Lovely ambiance in a busy popular pub. Staff could not have been friendlier. Gorgeous scotch egg starter for me and everything we ate including rack of lamb, sole, chicken and luscious desserts were impeccably produced and presented. Only gripe ( and reason for 4 instead of 5) was that we love veg and having it on a dish as little more than garnish is a disappointment

A totally fantastic experience! From the minute we walked in we were made welcome, with a cheery smile and friendly banter. Our room was lovely ,equipped with all the toiletries and tea/ coffee items you could want. The evening meal was brilliant! Chefs are Italian and French and their menu was terrific. What a fabulous choice of meats/ fish and great desserts plus local cheeses. Much thought has been put into the menu. Karen, our hostess, was very friendly and helpful.. nothing was too much bother, even when we asked about things on the menu whilst it was very busy. She made us feel like this was a very special night, even though it was not the last night of our holiday, when we usually "push the boat out". A Highly Commended to all.

We stayed at The Ram for one night after visiting the nearby RHS Rosemoor. The welcome from Nico was excellent, and he showed us to our room, a very comfortable double room with en-suite bathroom. We’d booked a table for the evening meal before hand, and had a lovely table with a window seat. The food and wine was simply superb, and the service from Nico first class. After a great nights sleep we then we’re treated to an utterly fabulous full English breakfast. I chatted to Nico and what came across was that he’s genuinely wanting patrons to enjoy their stay. In summary, a really special pub serving fabulous food and offering very comfortable overnight accommodation. Recommended.

Let me start by saying the food was very good, but the 65 minute wait for the starters to arrive was not. Clearly they were incapable of servicing the number of bookings they had taken, AND that was with 3 empty tables, set, but no shows ! Waitress was fine and apologetic, but they either need more staff in the kitchen or to restrict the number of bookings to what they can handle.
