I have never been in such a smelly, dirty, dangerous place. Seriously. Black mould in showers dirt and slime in showers, hair blocking the plughole. Sour fruit juice at breakfast that literally came out in jelly chunks. Screws in floor being used as doorstops. Flies, god the flies, infesting rooms and the manager admitted it could be the mattress as when I sat on is the flies all rose off it. PLEASE. TAKE MY ADVICE. STAY AWAY. DONT PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER..

Awful experience. Shower came apart when turned on in first room causing me to slip in a very slippery shower pan and hurt myself. Room was infested with flies, when I sat on the bed they all took off, manager thought it might be the mattress but laughed and said "I'll evict them. They haven't paid" they changed our room as they knew that room (115) has a problem with flies. Manager couldn't understand why we were given the room. We are both disabled but were moved upstairs to room 223. In this room there was black mould in shower cubicle and hair clogging the plug hole so water took forever to drain away. A screw sticking out of floor which I assume was being used as a door stop but would make quite a mess of a foot were it to be accidentally kicked. The light fixtures above the bed were thick with dust and looked like they had never been cleaned and only one light worked but if you pushed the bulb up a bit it came on and as soon as i took my hand away it went off again. Sour smell in rooms the manager said she thought it was the drains as they had a problem. The heat in the rooms is unbearable and with the smell and flies it was like something out of a horror movie. Most of the place appears to be occupied by people of less unfortunate circumstances. And because of that there is a 24/7 security guard. The breakfast is reasonably priced at £3.50 but the apple juice was so bad and came out in jelly chunks. The corridors were filthy and were in dire need of a good vacuuming. I'm sad to say that in all my days, and I'm 61, I have never stayed in such a sewage dump as the Primelodge Doncaster. STAY AWAY.

We checked in for a last minute stopover. We didn't expect much for the price. GOOD JOB!! The room was very dated, with peeling paint and plaster coming off the walls. When getting changed, we noticed that the curtains didn't cover the whole windows, and being on the ground floor, we felt rather exposed. We then went to use the shower, which we couldn't as the cold tap wouldn't turn on, and the hot water was scolding hot. By this time, we had enough and left. We reported this to reception and was told the manager would call us in the morning. We wait with baited breath and will not return.

The worst hotel if you can call it a hotel that I have ever stayed in for the price i was not expecting it to be spotless but what we was greeted with and saw in our room was a disgrace. The stains on the walls, the grime in the toilet and shower tiles filthy floor cobwebs and dust on back of the TV to which i actually rubbed my finger on the back of pure dirt covered my finger. Bed was not that bad but was 2 singles pushed together spent all night trying to get some sleep but just couldn’t with people walking and talking along the corridor room above banging about appearing to be moving furniture etc. The place just gives you creepy hostel vibes, never again.

I stayed for one night at the Primelodge as a stopover on a drive from Scotland to London. The property is close enough to walk into town. I realised quite quickly that the place is being used to house homeless people, I don't have an issue with that as the people I spoke to were all friendly just down on their luck. The hotel has 24 hour trained security presumably to keep the homeless in check not that I witnessed any bad behaviour. The room I was given was clean and had two single beds, coffee and tea were complimentary. All I wanted was somewhere to rest overnight at a reasonable cost and the Primelodge provided this. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm passing through Doncaster. Don't be put off by the negative reviews if all you want is a bed for the night

What a dirty and disgusting room/bathroom. Dirt on the floor, faeces around the toilet seat, shower dirty and grubby. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Couldn't give it a rating of zero....why would you not check a room before it was occupied?

Before booking I was a little hesitant as some of the reviews where somewhat non favourable. However what relief it was when I arrived to find my room clean and comfortable. The double booked for £48 had all the amenities you would expect from a central hotel. The location was good for central Doncaster and easy walkable. Upon arriving the manager asked if I required a towel as I was wet through with the rain. The check in lady was polite and had all my information ready. The manager showed me to my room helping with my bag and he gave me directions on how to get into the town centre. The bed was clean and the towels fresh. The water temperature could of been a little hotter and the breakfast selection greater. I declined breakfast as was meeting colleagues. For the rate of the room I strongly recommend this hotel. Its cheap and chearful yet clean and has a personal touch with customers.

Definitely not my definition of a hotel, but here goes: Pros: Close to where I needed to be for work. Check in was quick & easy; receptionist (Gemma?) was cheerful and helpful. Unlike some other comments, the room, towels & bedding seemed generally clean. Water was hot, with good pressure. WiFi was free, quick & stable. Cons: as mentioned in other reviews, this is a half-way house, rather than a hotel. Most of the other residents seemed to fit this category, although I tried not to look too closely. However, I wouldn’t have minded this (people have to go somewhere) if the rooms had better soundproofing. As it stood, I was kept awake past 1am by people walking the corridors, talking (and not loudly) and seemingly rearranging furniture in the room above me. The layout is very cheap and basic, bed uncomfortable and with a noisy mattress protector installed. In short, if you absolutely must have the cheapest room in Doncaster, can sleep however uncomfortable you are and wear earplugs to sleep, then you can get by here. Me, I’ll spend a bit more (and read reviews) next time and stay somewhere else.
