A very tired indifferent hotel. Stayed 2 nights in ‘superior’ room. Woke up in morning no hot water for shower. Tried to call reception phone in room doesn’t work. Pulled on clothes. Was indifferently told that they would switch on the boiler. Took cold shower as half hour later no warm or hot water. Went to lock balcony door lock broken. Booked taxi for 9.30 in morning at reception. 9.30 nothing. Total indifference at reception. Paid a lot of money for very little will stay somewhere else next time.

Hotel is very conveniently located in the old city and rooms are fair. BUT we came across the worst receptionist ever, literally shouting at us while we were trying to solve a double-booking issue. Totally unacceptable for someone deemed to be customer oriented.

The photo shown is the room we had. It was on the first floor, please note no lift, large with a balcony overlooking the garden. Usual continental breakfast but eggs and bacon available on request. Beautiful old house 10 mins to centre. ASk forroom at the back as it will be quieter.

The hotel is in a perfect location overlooking one of the Doredrecht's canals. The hotel has lots of character. The staff were friendly and the receptionist kindly let us access our upgraded room early. Our plan had just been to leave our bags and head out to start exploring the city. Room 16 had a view of the canal and had two large windows. It was well equipped with sofas, a desk & chair, coffee table, coffee maker, kettle, fridge, safe, aircon unit and heater. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a generous size with a shower and bath. There were complimentary toiletries which included toothbrushes and also a shaving set. Breakfast was a selection of cheese, cooked meat, cereal, fruit, breads, eggs, and bacon. Tea, coffee, orange juice and water were plentiful. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Exactly what I was looking for and as far removed from the usual chains as you can get.

We wanted a location between Rotterdam and Antwerp, so Dordrecht was ideal. The hotel was perfectly adequate and room 17 was spacious and quiet, facing the garden at the back. Not the fault of anybody that the weather was cold and damp while we were there. It was February! However the room was unacceptably cold with only just lukewarm radiators and no heating at all in the bathroom. On enquiring whether there was a fault with the heating, on investigating, the pleasant receptionist informed us somebody on the staff had turned the temperature down on the boiler! We guessed this was due to the recent high cost of fuel, but guests should not be expected to be as cold as we were. The additional cost of heating should be built into the room rate. That apart the hotel was adequate for a 3 star establishment.

Just returned from a few days at Hotel Dordrecht. The hotel is full of old world charm. We stayed here over 27 years ago and was delighted it was how I remembered it. Our room (19) was a superior room with a balcony, air conditioning and coffee machine. Very clean and everything you need. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in! The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good too. Close to the town and amenities.

Our room was on the top floor with a River view. The room was spacious (not like most European hotels) with a nice sitting area and room to rest. At night we had a good view of the top of the clock tower. The twin beds were good, but the mattresses were foam rubber which did make for some soft edges when you tried to get up but it was comfortable.. The hotel was a old mansion which was refurbished into a hotel. There are photos on the walls of the ancient rooms and decor. There was no built in A/C but the hotel had added a moveable A/C unit (for summers) that definitely cooled our room. Plus, the swing open roof windows brought in a nice breeze. The bathroom was a good size with complimentary personal items (combs, toothbrush, lotion, etc.) I would give it five stars except that there is no lift in the hotel so getting to a room with luggage was a bit hard...they do need to offer a "bell captain" to bring luggage up the stairs. The receptionist was extremely helpful and nice. She was pleasant to work with and offered us the things we needed. Around the corner (100 meters) was a good sized grocery store and personal needs store (Action Stores). Across the road is a peaceful walk to the river's edge and benches to watch the sunset right on the river and looking at the Railroad bridge. only two blocks away is the historic Grote Kerk. This magnificent church has kept alive the history, stories, and facts of Reformation's Synod of Dort (1618-1619) which drove the error of Arminus out of the church and established Calvinism as the truth of the Bible.WHile the original meeting hall was destroyed in 1700's the replica of the meeting hall and artifacts from that meeting are inside the Grote Kerk. For breakfast, they serve a general plate of bread, meats, and cheeses and then offer a cooked-to-order side of bacon, eggs, etc. You can eat in the dining room or—if the weather is nice—eat in the rear garden. Beware, there is an addition of rooms on the backside that is not inside the Mansion and is the normal standard rooms. I would advise spending the few extra dollars to have a River View room inside the Mansion. The rooms are good, sitting chairs are nice, a writing desk is in the room and good sized coffee table. Each room has a mini-bar, but with the grocery store nearby it was nice to have the cold fridge. A definitely destination hotel!
