The hotel is in the center, not far from the train station, easy to get to. Check-in is quick. We got a room with a window to the street, but it was not noisy. The room is not big, but it has all the necessary amenities. We even had a coffee machine. The hotel has parking, though it is paid, 15 euros. I recommend it for a short stay of a couple of nights.

This hotel, located with a very short walk of the central train station, is impeccable - not only in terms of cleanliness and style, but also in terms of service and facilities. My room was incredibly comfortable, overlooking a lovely central courtyard, and the bathroom was spacious, stocked with wall-mounted toiletries that spoke of a commitment to eco-consciousness. Well priced, central and with spa/ fitness/ sauna facilities - what more could you want? Staff were very happy to help me with any enquiries I had and the breakfast was varied, delicious and fresh. Also - for those who wish to have a few drinks in the evening without a long stumble to bed, the bar is open until 2am. This was especially encouraging as a woman in an unfamiliar city, as I felt comfortable to have a few nightcaps without having to navigate my way back in the dark. The hotel decor was also lovely, with book-themed posters on my floor, and a dark/ neutral colour palette with sunny pops of yellow. Check out was seamless and the smiling reception staff gave me a candy for the journey, just to make the morning a little sweeter. Such a thoughtful touch. I travel for a living and I cannot recommend highly enough - I will most certainly be back. Thank you for having me!

Just back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Great location close to the train station, the city centre and the U-Bahn station so very easy to get to & from. Despite the busy location, our room was very quiet. Even with both windows open at night, we barely heard any noise. The room was nice & cozy, clean with plenty of storage. It appears that someone had run off with the TV remote but the staff immediately fixed the issue and brought us a new one. And speaking of the staff, every single person working there was nothing but friendly & helpful. From the lady at reception who upon learning that we were going to the medieval market, immediately got us a map of the city & explained how to get there & where the other markets (and the largest Christmas tree) were. Even the breakfast staff on Sunday found us a spot to sit & were very approachable even though they were clearly rushed off their feet during the breakfast rush. We were very well looked after. Breakfast was great every day. After 2 nights of markets & gigs, we slept in on Sunday so arrived during peak time for breakfast but the other 3 mornings, it was a lot calmer/quieter. The hotel is embracing the city's cultural heritage beautifully. It inspired us to seek some of the city's former steelworks. Overall highly recommend the hotel & its staff.

I have traveled to many places in Europe and in USA. Esplanade was one of the best experience ever. The hotel staff were absolutely super helpful polity and professional. Our room was super clean and the breakfast buffet had pretty much everything. A big thank you to Jessica H. and Sadam T that was always there for us to help us with all our questions regarding the city recommendations etc. I am highly recommended this hotel.

The hotel is near the city center. The Location is the only good thing. Rooms - dusty and very noisy, feels like you sleep on the road. Breakfast - below avarage, cheap coffee and lack of variety. Stuff - not well trained Just for few pounds more you can have much bette hotel

This is my second stay. My previous stay made a good impression.The time the room was cold, can't change the heating. Distances to train stations are good, except the dodgy street in front of it. In general the stay was O.K.

I don't usually write reviews but the staff were excellent and very helpful especially as I didn't know any German. The room was excellent value and ideally situated from the city and close to the metro links. Would definitely recommend
