An intimidating manager who made us feel unsafe and frightened, dirty accommodation, nothing like the pictures shown on the booking site. The manager tried to say he had five other hotels in the town, which I subsequently found out to be a lie. Avoid!!

Don't book, check in farcical, no one present on site, had to call a mobile number which went to voicemail. TV and shower not working, bed broken, carpet dirty, building needs massive facelift. Charged £99, not worth £9!

Worst experience of my life. Arrived and it was like a seedy Blackpool b&b. To make it worse no heating or running hot water. Middle of winter. Owner refuses to get me a heater. Became very aggressive when I asked what I was supposed to do about washing hands after toilet and refused to put refund through. Ignored communication from trip.com about this. He was so aggressive I felt threatened and frightened so had no option but to leave hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE

As a solo woman traveller, do not stay here. It’s where the council houses homeless men and junkies. You have to stand out in the rain and call a number in the fort and wait 25minutes for someone to show up. And charge £90 for the troubles. Loud bar next door. I didn’t feel safe at all. It’s an absolute dive. A total and utter dive of a place. Avoid it at all costs! *********** should take it off the website.

Advertised as “Dogs free of charge “ on **********. We drove 30 miles out of the way and we’re told we had to pay for the dog. When I showed him his website he just ignored me and said I had to pay or couldn’t stay. Also advertised as “ free off road parking” when we arrived I was told to use the train station car park and pay. He was rude and arrogant ! The place was filthy and there was a really noisy bar next door with people out on the street shouting and music blaring out. We walked out and drove to days inn which is lovely. Best advice I can give is take heed of the other reviews ( which are not fake!) and avoid at all costs. This hotel should be struck off and I will be taking issue with trading standards and ********** on my return !! Just to add that by the time we got to another hotel he had changed the website…… unlucky because I took at screenshot when I was at his check in ;)

Had originally booked for 2 nights our plans had changed and we could only make 1 night we rang the week before to let the staff know that we would only be the the 1 night and that was fine nothing was said. Rang again the day before just to make sure that everything was still fine well it wasnt we were told that if we were not going to be there for check in on the first day then we would have to cancel and PAY A CANCELLATION FEE. We didnt want to cancel we were just being 1 day later like peoples plan changes AND IT utterly ridiculous behaviour. We were fine with losing the first night payment we didnt want a refund it was fine its not like we were wanting our money back, he was extremely ignorant and abrunt ive now had to book another hotel at the cost £95 the night before we travel. DO NOT USE THIS GUEST HOUSE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to phone to be let in, so stood under the canapy in the cold, wet wintery weather, to be greeted with good customer service. We were told that the bathroom was brand new but yet not been cleaned thoroughly. Dust on surfaces and floor, no toilet roll, and being very critical the bathroom hadn't been finished properly. Bedroom, TV didn't properly work, as batteries were starting to go. Tea stain over bits of the skirting board, no mattress protectors so could feel the lumps in the bed, curtains didnt meet when drawn properly, so light coming in from the street lights. We slept to a lullaby of someone gentle snoring in the room next door to us. On a positive side the room was a good size with a sofa. There is huge potential for this establishment but it needs to be run full time, with a person with an eye for detail and an understanding of guest requirements.
