This hotel is overlooking and next to the M1, road goes through the hotel complex and very dangerous. Scenery is horrific. Food was not good quality, coffee not included in breakfast, reception is chaotic, loud and dirty. Rude staff. Bath and shower don’t work properly.

From the moment we attended the Carrickdale wedding fair and met our wedding coordinator, Michelle, we were certain that this was the place we wanted our wedding reception to be. We weren't disappointed. This venue was fabulous from start to finish. Michelle was the perfect mix of kindness and professionalism, matching a genuine care for her clients with decades of experience. She made the wedding reception planning a joy. She was always available and happy to offer advice and promptly answer our many questions. On the day of the wedding she ensured that everything was planned and timed to perfection. She handled a delay on our part with the utmost professionalism and made us feel very much at ease. She told us that our only job was to enjoy ourselves. Everybody raved about the delicious food and friendly, attentive and perfectly-timed service. Portions were very generous and children and guests with dietary requirements were happily facilitated. Lacey's Suite looked stunning at Christmas time and it easily held our 250 guests. The Carrickdale Hotel helped to make our wedding day very special and we will always remember it very fondly. We would definitely highly recommend this venue for anyone who is planning their wedding and we are certain that, like us, you will not be disappointed.

We had an amazing time staying at the Carrickdale. We had originally booked to go on Friday and when I emailed them to ask many questions regarding the leisure facilities Sorcha was more than helpful. Storm Eowyn was due to hit on Friday so I emailed Sorcha again to ask if we could stay on Thursday night also rather than travel during the storm and of course she was able to accommodate us for the additional night with no issues whatsoever. Once the storm hit there was no electricity however, we were not even aware of this until later in the morning as they were powering the whole place off a generator. Nothing was off limits including the pool, sauna, steam room etc which were are brilliant. We had a lovely relaxing time use all these facilities. The staff are a credit to this hotel, every single staff member were lovely. The lobby and bar are beautiful, food was great and would like to thank you all for a brilliant few days. We will return soon

I Dennis Kerr am writing this review because to help others decide if I am the only one that has experience what I have gone through, some staff that you could recommend more, and others that need to look and ask themselves would you like to be treated like that? The front desk were you are not very welcome by the girls working there, for a four star hotel you would respect better, not only to say hi mr Kerr, or Dennis you are welcome the girls at reception did not respect me as a paying customer, all though my 14 nights there. And when I was cycling back from a day out I seen two off the bar staff laughing at me they know who they are, sad I guess. I won’t be back, and I say better hotels out there.

We just got back from an amazing stay at the Carrickdale Hotel, We stayed from Tuesday to Friday, two adults and two kids, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. First off, the location is fantastic—nestled right between the beautiful Mourne mountains. The place is beautiful, clean and well-maintained, and the grounds are just gorgeous. There's a lovely secret garden cafe where we had some of the best pizzas, burgers, and coffee. It's such a cozy spot! Our first night, we ate in the hotel's restaurant, and it was fantastic. Shout out to Caroline, our waitress, who was so friendly and great with our kids. She made us feel right at home and nothing was too much trouble for her. The leisure center was a big hit with all of us. They provide robes and slippers so you can comfortably walk from your room to the pool, and towels are ready for you there. Such nice touches! There's also a mini-golf course and a cute little playground in the garden. Our kids had a blast and were entertained the whole time. On our last day, we tried the food in the bar, and once again, it didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious, and the service was spot on. Prices were very reasonable too, which is always a plus. As someone with coeliac disease, I was thrilled with the gluten-free options available everywhere, even in the garden cafe. They had a gluten-free pizza option, which is pretty rare to find. Breakfasts were a highlight with choices like full Irish, vegetarian, gluten-free options, and even a healthy breakfast salad. The kids loved the pancakes! Times for breakfast are 7 - 11 which gave us SO much time without once having to panic or rush down for breakfast! It's also cooked fresh to order - no cold eggs or soggy sausages!! The rooms were spacious and comfy, with a shower and jacuzzi bath. The temperature was perfect, not too hot or cold. We felt so relaxed and at home. Overall, the Carrickdale Hotel has such a friendly atmosphere. Everyone we met was smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. It's real old school Irish hospitality that is often lacking in most places these days! I wish we could have stayed longer, and I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a family-friendly, welcoming, and beautiful hotel, this is it!

Booked a suite at €269 per night with breakfast. Was a basic room and terrible view of a brick wall. TV that small it couldn't been seen properly from the bed. Dinner in the restaurant wasn't good at all, very busy and squashed into a corner even though our friends had a huge metal cage on his leg and on crutches . Staff banging into our seats as they were passing by. Food was just OK. Spa? More like a local leisure centre. Entertainment was one man with guitar for 2 hours on a Saturday evening singing Christmas songs in January! No thanks will definitely not be back nor recommend to anybody. Only upside reception staff were nice and friendly.

We stayed here recently for a concert. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. The food was lovely and may i compliment the chef on the soup. It was just delicious. The concert was held and was supervised perfectly with no complaints at all except maybe the lack of seating. However my one complaint was our room. We stayed in 116 and I have to be honest and say we felt like we were in a prison cell. While the room was perfectly spotless and bed very comfy we had no view outside due to the frosted glass on the window. We paid 219 euro for the night and felt that this was not acceptable. I didn't complain as it was only one night for the concert but for that huge amount of money I would at least expect to be able to look outside the window. I definitely would not stay on that floor again but would be happy to visit the hotel again.
