A lovely cafe, we wish we stayed the night before! We visited for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The Coorie breakfast was fantastic - and the extra serving of tatty scones were a treat. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food and drinks were great. We had a fantastic seat at the window and were promptly served. A definite hidden gem in the area, and somewhere we will definitely be returning to when we next visit Scotland. It was a shame we did not stay the night as we know we would have enjoyed it. Surrounding area is lovely too.

Wonderful and quaint inn situated along the promenade in Limekilns. Gorgeous views out to the Firth of Forth and the local boat harbor. Spacious, comfortable and well-designed rooms above a lovely restaurant. Such a contrast from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh proper.

A nice little hotel across the street from the water. The staff was very friendly. Very clean and spacious with plenty of storage in the main room for our stuff. There was a luggage rack and a freestanding unit for hanging with shelving. The bathroom was clean and had a set of built in shelves next to the toilet. We took a short walk to the beach area and enjoyed the waterfront.

We went to a festival nearby and stayed here and honestly - 10/10. Staff were amazing and even let us keep our room until 4:30pm free of charge as we weren't flying home until 7pm. Staff are great and we're so friendly and helpful. The place itself is lovely and has some great touches like vouchers for money off in the cafe and stunning seaside views. I would 100% stay here again if I was attending another event or visiting Edinburgh. We did hire a car as Limekilns is very remote - that's the only thing I'd say, transport is needed! Amazing stay! Thank you!

I don’t think I’ve ever come across ruder staff, my friends and I were shouted at from behind the counter, while another member of staff made snide comments about us daring to sit down. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND NEITHER WILL MY FRIENDS. We walked along to another cafe where the staff were very pleasant.

Stayed for two in room 2. We have noted positives and some room for improvement. Positives: -Cafe lovely downstairs, offers nice coffee and bakes as well as meals which we did not try. -Beautiful view from room. -Room spacious and clean. -Comfortable beds -Nice bathroom -£5 voucher for cafe and welcome pack was a nice touch. -Heating system in rooms were good. -The local area is beautiful and very quiet. -Adequate on street parking. Areas with room for improvement: -Cafe downstairs was nice but it would be even better with local jam and butter to go with the beautiful scones. In this local community, I’m sure there is better options for jam. Even jam from Aldi is better quality. If you’re going to make beautiful scones, give them a good partner. -The staff in the cafe were not interested in general chit chat and felt cold and unbothered. -Pillows in room could be better, some of the pillows were nice (ones with stripes) other pillows were flat. -Bathroom mirror worn down and on a slant, needs replaced. The bathroom is in desperate need of some storage and places to put things. -The room was nice but needed some personality, it seemed cold. -If you were staying here longer than 2 days, there is little storage in room. -No lamps in bedroom apart from lamps on the wall which do not work. -Furniture in the room felt budget and tired other than the beds. The rooms could really do with some love, it wouldn’t even be much to just take the rooms up a notch. -There is no one on site from half 4, room doors do not feel fully safe. -No place for extra toilet rolls in bathroom, we had to go out at night to get more toilet roll. -Room was not serviced leaving us again with no toilet roll or refreshments provided and having to tidy the room on our own and to reuse dirty towels. The housekeeper left a note at the door saying they did not want to disturb us but we were not in? We got back at 10pm/11pm at night and felt disappointed after a busy day. Mistakes happen we get that. -Walking in at night from outside is very dark, we had to use torches on our phone until we got a few steps from the door. The cafe could do with some lighting outside to lead the way into the hotel. We would stay again but would hope to see improvements. This ‘hotel’ is more of an airbnb type thing as there is no one here to meet any needs outside working hours. This hotel has so much potential and I hope the owners take these pointers on board and action them. There needs to be more love put into the rooms and more thought in the overall stay by owners.

Stayed at Coorie for 2 nights in August 2022. Self check in if arriving after 4.30pm, you are sent a code to enter front door, keys left in allocated room. No staff member on site after 4.30pm until café reopens in the morning. Initially we were happy with the room, the amenities (albeit a bit limited) and the peaceful location. The £5 gift voucher left in the room was also a really nice touch. The room was clean & comfortable as was the bathroom. I wish I could say that our stay was totally positive but unfortunately there was a serious issue which was very distressing and totally spoiled our visit to the B&B & was a huge negative. We stayed in Room 4. The doors have just a doorknob, the key to lock it fits into the middle of the doorknob. When leaving for the day the next morning after arrival my wife had trouble locking the door. Sacha the housekeeper came along & asked if there was a problem, my wife said she could not lock the door. Sacha told her to just leave it open as she was servicing the rooms. My wife asked if she was going to service it at that point but Sacha said she was doing upstairs first. As we had our possessions in the room including an expensive laptop & tablet my wife understandably did not want it left open unattended & said she would rather it be locked until housekeeping was ready to service it & asked if Sacha could show her how the lock worked. They both tried several times & there was obviously a knack whereby you had to sort of pull the knob towards you & give it a half turn or so whilst the key was inserted, not easy to do as even the housekeeper had trouble getting it to lock. Between them they got the lock to work & my wife satisfied herself the door was locked before leaving but it was clear locking the door could be difficult & fiddly even for the staff. Sacha got quite irritated with my wife wanting the door to be locked & said she could not see what the problem was with it being left open, my wife was quite taken aback by that comment & with her abrupt attitude. My wife was concerned about Sacha wanting to just leave the room open so she specifically asked Sacha to make sure the door was definitely locked after she made up the room later. Sacha said she would make sure it was locked. We were both extremely annoyed and upset to arrive back at our room around 10pm only to find that the door was unlocked with our possessions totally accessible in the room to anyone who turned the doorknob and had obviously been unlocked all day since the room had been serviced in the morning. I think it is a fundamental expectation in any B&B, hotel room or any other establishment where you are paying to stay to expect a door to be kept locked especially when you have specifically asked Housekeeping to ensure the door is locked when the guest is not occupying it and the guest has ensured the door is locked before they left the building in the presence of a staff member. It also defies the obje

Just returned from a fantastic 2 night stay. Property is situated on the sea front with amazing views. We were sent details of how to self book in should we have been arriving after 4pm, however we arrived a little earlier. Free parking on the street. Friendly and efficient check in with the young lady in the cafe. We stayed as a family in room 2 which had amazing views. Really nice beverage station where tea, coffee etc was replenished daily. Room cleaned to a high standard, only down side for me and its only a little one was shower was not very powerful. Received a £5 off voucher for the cafe which we used on the first morning. Food was plentiful, extremely tasty and good value. 2 local friendly pubs within a 5 minutes walk. We stayed as visiting Edinburgh for the Tattoo, which was very easy from local train station. All in all a very relaxing time to spend with family. Would definately revisit. Thank you
