Waterfront Hotel Dungloe

We stayed in the Waterfront in June 2024 as my daughter had attended a nearby Gaeltacht. We could not get a family room so we had to book two separate rooms. I shared with my 11 year old daughter. My daughter feel asleep before me and when I got into the bed I discovered it hadn't been made correctly and the sheet didn't cover the mattress protector. As I didn't want to wake her the next morning I discovered a large yellow stain on the mattress cover. This turned my stomach as god knows what it was. I reported it and as a gesture of good will the hotel gave me a €50 voucher to use at the hotel which was posted to me . It was valid for one year as we had no plans returning to the area till July this year I reached out to ask for the voucher to be extended I was told no outright by email with no discussion. I find this unacceptable standard by the hotel as it was their short coming in basic standard of cleanliness that made the voucher be issued in the first place. I would not recommend this hotel not because of the original complaint as things happen but for their lack of customer service. This was very disappointing .

Great location! Look this hotel was just lovely. Fabulous views from the bar and dining areas. Staff were just lovely. The room was excellent, very well appointed and beds extremely comfortable. I would absolutely return and would highly recommend it. Thanks to all the staff.

The staff- bar, chefs, reception and cleaners offer high levels of customer service. However the property is in need of refurbishment. The reception area is not welcoming with out-dated furnishings and more like a walk through corridor. Equally the bar seating and tables have seen better days. The bar needs to have more ambience and celebrate those fab views in order to complement the amazing food served in the evening. Maybe a visit by management to a recently opened establishment in Dungloe would be informative for interior design in order to justify the high room rates.

We stayed here as did my bro and sis in law. We all loved it! Room was clean and comfortable! Restaurant was excellent, the view was beautiful. Wide variety of choices w something for everyone. Bar was great for before and after drinks. We would highly recommend

Grand entrance but once in the foodsmell isn't inviting. Restaurant is huge and food is good. Old worn furniture and a hollow sound that sounds like a cantine especially when empty bottles are thrown in a big container makes you think you are sitting next to a glasscontainer. Rooms are good. Coffee and tea available. In our bedroom and bathroom where a lot of hairs from previous guests. The toiletseat was loose and the waterpressure was very low. However the staff friendly and very helpfull. We had a good 2 nights but not worth 4 stars.
