What a special place! Created to look like a desert fortress with beautiful hand-woven rugs hanging in the corridor and a gorgeous mural of the Silk Road in the reception area. The terrace restaurant was a superb place for breakfast with views of the Gobi sand dunes and starry skies at night. The breakfast was enormous, just fabulous, with both Chinese and Western choices. Freshly made noodle soup and omelets and waffles… pretty much anything you could want. Friendly staff, big, well appointed rooms, superior bathroom, everything was great. The location is a little ways from the center of town, but there is a bus across the street that will take you there for two yuan. And you can walk to the right from the hotel for fifteen minutes through a bazaar to a nature site. Loved it!

The unexpected choice turned out to be the most exciting day of the trip to Dunhuang! Originally, we accidentally booked this camp hotel, but it turned out to be the most surprising and unforgettable stop of this trip to Dunhuang. The children had a great time with the desert for the first time, and they had a lot of fun and took great photos. It was incredibly beautiful both during the day and at night! Special thanks to the housekeeper Xiao Wei who warmly received us. He was meticulous and thoughtful, making us feel at home. There were some minor problems that occurred on the night of check-in. Thanks to the professional response and quick handling of the three housekeepers Xiaopang, Xiaowu and Xiaoyan, our family spent the night safely and smoothly. I like this hotel very much. The antique setting and elegant environment are worth coming again. The waiter is considerate and enthusiastic, making us feel friendly and warm when we first arrived. The layout of the book-scented environment makes people want to stay for a while.

I went out with my friends and chose a homestay. I was unexpectedly satisfied. It was the best homestay we had online in Qinggan. This is the off-season for tourism in Dunhuang. The boss was very nice and upgraded us to a room with a terrace. The whole homestay was super clean, minimalist and modern. It was not at the entrance of the village, so it was very quiet to sleep at night! It is 1 km away from the Mingsha Mountain Crescent Lake Scenic Area, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk there. One ticket can be used for 3 days. The sun was too strong the next day, and I was too lazy to walk. I took a taxi and it arrived quickly. It only took 3 minutes. Moreover, it is very cheap to take a taxi in Dunhuang, with a starting price of only 6 yuan. The homestay is very comfortable, and the bed is also very comfortable, with a latex mattress! I recommend everyone not to miss this homestay!

June 2025... We stayed for four days. It's in a great location for viewing the Myeongsa Mountain/Wolyacheon Tourist Complex. This is a truly wonderful place. It feels more like a friend's home or a warm country home than a typical lodging. They constantly provide fruit and drinks. Although not an option, a home-cooked breakfast is provided every morning. On clear evenings, they even provide a trip to see the stars. It was a truly wonderful experience. They adjusted our check-out time to fit our flight and even provided airport drop-off. I've traveled extensively, but I've never experienced anything like this. If I ever return to Dunhuang, I'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
