The pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of drink choices. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. Our room was next to the extractor, which the young man made me aware of when he checked us in. It wasn't a problem for us, and the extractor has to be somewhere. The room is beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Proper mirror at the dressing table. Full length mirror. (Which isn't always a given) The room was very well equipped, ie fan, portable radiator, neither of which were needed. Nice tea tray with plenty of choice of drinks and biscuits. Bathroom was very clean and has a large shower which had very good water pressure. The water in the sink got very hot, which was great for my husbands shave. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries. Properly flushing toilet. The restaurant was very nice, staff were attentive, but not overbearing. I asked to be moved table onto the comfortable chair, which was no problem. The menu was varied and although we only chose the burger stack,it was really tasty. Breakfast was included in our stay and again,it was really nice. The ladies were friendly and efficient and offered more toast and drinks without issue. The food was fresh and my poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Overall,I have to say ,our stay was relaxing and enjoyable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.

The George is a very attractive old pub in the centre of the lovely village of Easingwold. The hotel has limited parking but there is usually plenty of free parking in the Market Place. Check in was friendly and efficient and our King Room (no 12) is spacious and very smart. The usual tea and coffee facilities are provided but, rather unusually, there wasn’t a solitary biscuit between us. Perhaps they just forgot. After a lovely sleep in a most comfy bed, our Full English breakfast was as good as I recall, and satisfied my three basic requirements of a cooked breakfast, ie top quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and nicely presented - and special mention must be made of the sausage and black pudding which were excellent. The only blip, and a bit of a surprise, was the lack of any fruit options to start. We travel rather a lot, both in the U.K. and overseas, and whether we are staying in top hotels or humble B&Bs there is always a fruit option at breakfast, be it a fruit salad, a basket of fruit or even if it’s just some tinned grapefruit, so it seemed really strange that in a quality hotel like the George they don’t offer that option. Perhaps it’s something they might consider. This was our third stay at the George and, once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It’s a cosy hotel in a lovely location and the service throughout was friendly and very efficient. We will certainly come back.

Booked in for valentines weekend with my wife. What an amazing hotel .beautiful village location.fantastic range of beers . All staff from front of house to waiters and housekeeping really polite professional and helpful. The restraunt food is simply amazing. The restraunt makes each diners experience feel very personal the waiters painstakingly take there time to explain every meal in detail.and the food is exceptional I'm a huge foodie and I was very very impressed. The hotel room we booked was a king suite and we found it very clean and everything at hand to our needs .lovely warm rooms and comfortable beds .overall a fantastic stay and would hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.well done guys and thank you for our beautiful stay.

So impressed with the food and service last night. Group of girlfriends celebrating birthdays and all the staff were so friendly and attentive to us. Food was beautifully presented and all delicious. I loved the steak pie and bread and butter pudding. Kind feature is that you can add a small amount to your bill to cover a meal for the local food bank, which we all did. That was a great idea and one that more local hospitality venues should take on

We had a pet friendly room and it was spotless, no sign whatsoever of previous doggy guests. Very clean, comfortable bed, modern bathroom. It was a lovely stay which was faultless. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was exceptional and all the staff were very pleasant. Special thanks to the manager for sorting us a pet friendly table when very busy after we needed to change our plans. Breakfast another lovely event, they made it feel special, toast, tea, coffee and choice of breakfast all served to your table. Will definitely return again next year for our pre Christmas break. Many thanks.
