This place is special. I stayed for a weekend recently. I was there for a funeral and really needed a lovely, warm, comforting place to stay. The Mill House Inn was perfect. I stayed in suite 19- gorgeous room, large living room with fireplace, huge bathtub and huge seperate shower. I had custom breakfast brought to my room to eat in front of the fireplace each morning. Location is excellent. I walked everywhere despite it being January. The Inn is lovely (love the snacks and cookies in the lobby- I ate all the Snickerdoodles). What really makes the Inn special are the people. Everyone there made my visit as comfortable as it could be. Five stars over and over again. And thank you.

Deeply disappointed and shocked in how run down the Inn was after I saw it 10 or 12 years ago when it was beautiful. When I arrived in the evening, no one was there – not an inn keeper, manager or any other guests. There were no cars at the property and it appeared there was no one staying there. Room 4 is terribly shabby and depressing. Torn window treatments and dirty rugs which I have photos of to prove. This was not how the room was described when booking and is not what one expects of a high priced East Hampton Inn. However, the worst part was seeing a MOUSE TRAP under the bed!!! The inn keeper on the phone became defensive and was not at all apologetic. He was rude. talked incessantly – again not how you treat a guest. From Trip Advisor reviews, others have had the identical treatment. I have come to East Hampton for over 20 years and never had such a terrible and stressful time. I help off writing a review as I was hoping for a 50% REFUND as I left the next day and left $2,000 on the table. The request is more than reasonable given the depressing and worn room, the behavior of the inn keeper and the condition of the inn I have stayed in Inns worldwide and never has there NOT been an urn of coffee waiting for guests in the morning. Telling a guest you sent your chef home is ridiculous. Seems the Inn is trying to save money everyway possible. Save yourself the aggravation and money!!

Extremely nice staff. Unfortunately the rooms are obscenely overpriced for what they are, and their graciousness can not erase the feeling of having been taken for a ride. When you pay over 3K all in with fees (they add 10 percent fees on top of the extremely high rack rate) a 2 night stay, you expect a certain standard in the room, even a very small room like the one we stayed in. They market themselves as a 5 star hotel. It’s actually somewhere between a 2 and 3 star hotel. The room had: 1) bugs 2) old run down carpeting 3) marks throughout the walls 4) musty smell and not a particularly good ac 5) malfunctioning wifi for one of the 2 nights 6) bathtub plug didn’t seal 7) tiny windows with no view 8) low ceiling to where you would hit your head The staff was nice and accommodating, which we appreciated, but at this price I do feel like I should have known to expect a 2/3 star room and not a 5.

A hidden gem with wonderful food and attention to detail. Freindly staff where nothing was too much and great location. We will definately return here for a mini break during the summer. Staff were very knowledgable of the area and recommended well.

A very pleasant property I have stayed here numerous times but not in past few years . Still fabulous , staff that truly aims to please , nothing is too much . We had suite 40 “americas cup.” This suite has a nice outdoor terrace/deck for sipping morning coffee . Great shower, as always wonderful linens and And a down comforter and pillows . A short hop to sag harbor for dinner and a bit of shopping . Kenny the innkeeper , lovely kind professional gentleman. He is avail for the guests needs and conversation. Kelli is the assistant a gem . So helpful with dinner reservations and in general planning our activities. Morning breakfast quite tasty With quite a few nice choices. We will return soon to see our new friends “ Kelli” and Kenny”

If it hadn’t been for the great location, friendliness of staff and very good breakfast I would have given this a 1 or 2 star rating. I reserved one of the lowest price rooms (still over $1000 per night before tax) and it was tiny, probably 12x15 feet with a bathroom that was probably no larger than 4x6 feet. The furnishings danced the line between vintage and shabby. There were plaster cracks on the ceiling, paint on window panes, frayed and difficult to operate window shades and worn/stained carpeting. Simple features like bedside accessible outlets or USB plugs were lacking. We did appreciate the beach parking pass.

This place has gone downhill. The rooms were always a bit dingy but it used to have great breakfasts. Now they are mediocre at best. The coffee is weak and the food is not good. On top of that while you eat your mediocre breakfast you have to listen to the owner micromanage and berate his staff. Unpleasant experience to say the least.

The Inn is so charming and the location couldn’t be better. The best part is the helpful staff especially Dawn at the front desk. Whatever you need she is there to help. The breakfast is amazing. Where else can you get a lobster roll for breakfast! We had a glorious time and plan on returning next year.
