Mercy Dez Villa

We stayed at Mercy Dez Villa recently during our recent holiday in Meghalaya. We started our holiday with a at this lovely home and also ended our trip at Alan's place (Mercy Dez). We visited as a family of three = wife, son (14 years) and myself. The best part about this homestay is the opportunity to interact with Alan and his mother Mrs. Mithran. These are among the most erudite people we have met. Mrs. Mithran took the time to explore what we would like to for food at various occasions and then very carefully laid out a sumptuous meal for dinner/breakfast. Both Alan and Mrs. Mithran make very interesting conversation companions, so if you are visiting do take the time to meet and chat. They both love it. They are very knowledgeable about customs, traditions, geography and logistics for the region. Mrs. Mithran and Alan have both travelled extensively and bring their experiences to the dinner table :) Mrs. Mithran has a green thumb, which is evident in the extensive collection of beautiful plant spread across the property. Do take the time to admire the orchids and succulent plants. Mercy Dez is a property to relish at leisure on your holiday. The rooms are very clean and well equipped to host visitors. On each occasion we were given a large living area consisting of a living room, open kitchen and bedrooms. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Kitchen is equipped with basic necessities and a fridge. Laundry service is also available. Do please let Alan know upfront, if you have any specific needs, Alan is more than willing to make your stay memorable. When we are back for our next trip to Shillong, we we definitely rely on Alan for our stay. All three of us loved the place.
