We stayed overnight at Ellington Lodge as we went to an 80s night at the Concorde Club. The hotel is a bit dated but very clean. Our room lacked plug sockets, there were two sockets, one was taken up by the TV. Not convenient for charging mobile phones but not the end of the world. The curtains are next to useless, ours covered the window but without any lining it was no darker having them shut over being open. The bathroom was spotless and the shower pressure was very good. Breakfast is in another building and is very good quality. We were pre-warned by others that have stayed before that one of the ladies that serves breakfast is grumpy. She didn't disappoint. Not rude just someone that doesn't enjoy her job. It was actually comical and I hope she's still there next time we stay. Don't stay expecting anything other than somewhere clean to stay and you won't go wrong. We will be back though!

I nearly didn’t book this hotel having read all the negative reviews - but I’m delighted that I ignored them. I only stayed one night for business and I had a gorgeous time! I met two friendly receptionists - one when I arrived early and the other when I checked in. I had a garden room and it was gorgeous! There was a welcome box of Lindt chocolates in the room. Massive ultra-comfortable bed, patio doors out to the garden, heated towel rail, big soft fluffy towels, excellent walk in shower, plenty of storage space. I ate dinner in the Moldy Fig attached restaurant and food was exceptional and service quick and friendly. There was a big Elvis event on but I didn’t hear a thing from my room and had a fantastic night sleep. Finally a very yummy breakfast. An excellent one night stay and I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area.

Very misleading booking, thought we had booked on site, turns out we are at another hotel, for which we had to pay taxi fare to get there. Meals and events at one venue, bed at another, involved 3 taxis fares. Spoke to manager who was not interested, didn't like the way I spoke to him... so be warned, make sure your booking is not hotel village, it will cost you. Having said that I actually think we are better off, as hearing people here have no hot water!! Having had a lovely meal ( credit where credit is due), we could not get a seat close to stage as tickets sold to those who had not booked meal. Feeling ver short changed!!

We stayed here as part of their Christmas party night package. The cost of bed and breakfast along with dinner and entertainment is excellent however, the accommodation really let down what was a great evening in the Concorde Club. We were put on the ground floor in a strange corner which had a shared entrance with next door. As soon as we entered, we were met with a strange musty smell which was horrid and lingered through the whole stay. There were cobwebs in between the wardrobe and wall and the headboard fell off the wall when I tried to move the bed to investigate where the smell was coming from. We were told not to open the door when having a shower so I can only think that the damp environment is not helping. We thought the whole room was dingy and you needed to have lights on the whole time - our view was out onto the car park, which was fine but made it quite noisy in the morning. Breakfast was a short walk in the Mouldy Fig and was really delicious. We asked to have a large table as we were staying as a group but instead of happily agreeing with this, we were asked twice whether everybody would be coming to breakfast as they were fully booked and would be very busy! Not very welcoming! Interestingly, the restaurant remained half empty the whole time we were there. The hotel definitely needs a massive refurbishment as it is in a great location joined to the popular Concorde Club.

Stayed at this hotel for one night and found it general OK, apart from the safe in the room didn't work and when queried with reception was told that non of the safes in the rooms worked!! . Also the Aircon didn't work also and with the vents on machine it was visible in need of service and very dirty. To sum up the hotel it was very tired and in need of updating generally.

Lovely stay at the Ellington Lodge, Room was very spacious and spotless and the bed was really comfortable. Room service was excellent, just ask at reception and they will arrange this for you. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast in the atmospheric Moldy Fig Restaurant was gorgeous. We had a garden room with table and chairs just outside the French doors. This is a wonderful little hotel in a woodland setting, we recommend it to all our friends.

The hotel is a little bit dated but it was clean and very quiet. Comfy bed and I slept well. You have to walk across the carpark to get to the bar and restaurant. Had a nice lunchtime sandwich and a decent breakfast. No complaints and I'd be happy to stay there again.

Myself and two colleagues stayed at Ellington Lodge after playing at the Concorde Club. The rooms and the venue generally were very comfortable indeed, at a very reasonable price. The high point for me was breakfast, Faith, who served us, was the epitome of friendly, knowledgeable, attentive professionalism. Individuals like Faith are a great asset to any organisation. We'll look forward to our next visit.
