First time stay at a Premier Inn. My room was excellent, bed comfortable, bathroom good, although a little old. Shower worked well with plenty of hot water. Excellent food in the pub next to the Inn, evening meal and breakfast was very nice and staff amazing in both the restaurant and hotel. I was on a course at the near by EOGB company which was only a short distance away. Will be staying here again in the near future. Plenty of space in a large car park with security cameras. Only downside is the WIFI was non existent

The rooms are comfy and clean, but in need of updating. The sink and hot tap scaled up and poor flow. The pub next door for breakfast was very poor, dirty, dust everywhere, filthy windows, and lamps and table bottoms dirty. slow service, I had Lasagne and it burned the roof of my mouth, Breakfast was poor, coco pops in the Muesli jar, and Muesli in packets, which were also cheap and nasty. The toasters took an age to toast and need replacing. The cooked breakfast was erratic, often having to ask as the dishes empty. Attention to detail non existent, Will not go there again.

The hotel is basic and clean, the hotel staff are great, if this is all I had to go on I would give it at least 4 rating. The Highwayman pub next door is a different matter and in my opinion should be avoided at all costs. The service was slow and poor from the start. I made the mistake of ordering the mixed grill. All the meat I was served was either raw or burnt. Nothing like a sausage that has only been cooked on one side and is still cold and pink and squishy on the other to ruin your stay. Unfortunately for me this resulted in food poisoning and spending the night vomiting and loosing a week of work as it worked through my system.

While I find it difficult to negatively rate budget hotels, as the saying "you get what you pay for" is clear with Premier Inn, I feel the negatives do require mentioning, for the benefit of both future clientele and the management themselves. Upon entering, we were quite late, however the night porter was very helpful. Unfortunately, our key card wasn't working (even though we were given an emergency key), so the night porter had to let us into our room, which was quite far from reception. The room itself was quite nice, which seems to be the marketed benefit of a Premier Inn. However, one thing that's often left abandoned is the bathrooms. This hotel didn't necessarily have a bad bathroom, however compared with what most would consider the standard, this room's bathroom was a little outdated. A shower curtain that barely worked, leaving the base of the sink flooded and only one towel per person was the main impression we received from the room. I could recommend the hotel as an overnight stay if it meets your budget or is a perfect location for your travels, however there are many better options in the nearby area at similar prices.

The room was fine but the noise from the 'boy racers' driving around the adjacent retail park at night was awful. We were unable to sleep because of it and decided to give up and go home. We have stayed here previously but won't be foing so again.

You usually know what to expect at a Premier Inn. Cleanliness is a given - but sadly not at this hotel. The far side of the room hadn't been cleaned properly for months and there was rubbish under the chair from previous guests. There was no housekeeping over Christmas (was aware of this in advance). I booked it with a 'free breakfast' promotion from Premier Inn back in November and the hotel wasn't aware and didn't honour it. The room, if clean, would be adequate - but is tired with plug sockets not working by the desk and the toilet not flushing properly. I won't use this hotel again. I did raise the issues with reception but they are not allowed to accompany a guest to a room to check and had no authority to do anything except suggest I write to Premier Inn central complaints. Not heard back from them.

The smell of the reception area was like walking into a changing room that hasn’t been cleaned in years and was very clearly coming from the guy working the front desk. DISGUSTING!! I couldn’t wait to get out of there and definitely won’t be returning.
