Hotel Indigo - Edinburgh - Princes Street, an IHG Hotel

We have stayed in a few indigos in the past and all have been pleasant stays. Staff here are friendly but I feel the hotel is quite tired. The corridor to our room always had a dank smell and the room itself was tatty. We had a dual aspect at the front which was both lovely and horrendous at the same time. Views fabulous, noise levels off the scale! It’s a city with city noise but the windows don’t have double glazing. We were told as it’s an old building they weren’t allowed to double glaze. I’m sure other hotels have got round this issue with secondary glazing or some such. Central location but we won’t stay again

Great hotel, great room, great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was great and fulfilling. They had various options, but I chose the full English breakfast which was delicious. The room was spacious and clean with lots of features and amenities. Very central location with easy access to the new town and the old town. The train station is 5 min walk from the hotel. I will definitely be staying at the Doghouse again.

Stayed here 3 nights and had the most beautiful stay! I’m in love with this hotel and can’t wait to visit again. We were greeted by Liam or luke I’m so sorry I can’t remember his name he was English on reception and he walked us up to our room and he was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The room itself was absolutely beautiful. I love the bar area of the room and the complimentary local cocktails were lovely as well. The bed is so comfy, the housekeeping staff done a fabulous job. I honestly couldn’t fault this hotel at all. We visited sushi samba twice, I would review it on here but can’t find it. We had a lovely server called Mercedes she was wonderful. All in all I can’t wait to return to this hotel.
DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre

Our visit started with a tram ride from the airport and debarking at West End. Then rolling 3 pieces of luggage for the half mile walk to the Doubletree on Bread Street just below the Castle. Andres, the front desk manager, greeted us, found our reservation and welcomed the somewhat weary travelers. He offered us to wait in the restaurant where breakfast was ending and arranged for us to have some coffee and water - perfect! He was able to get us into a room early where we could take a break before heading out for the day. Yana, a relatively new front desk person completed our registration and was very nice and helpful. Today we walked up the hill to Edinburgh Castle and it was an easy 0.75 mile walk with lots of photo opportunities along the way. Lots of good restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood so dining is easy, or just grabbing a pint! Highly recommend this friendly and convenient hotel. We walked to Haymarket and up Princes Street easily. If you are a Hilton honors member it is a great value, if not, then join and find out how good your hotel experience can be.

The hotel is very special, very classical, especially the four-poster bed, it feels very ”Louis XIV” taste. The furniture and decoration in the room are very nostalgic, and it is very similar to the medieval ancient city of Edinburgh.

The location is very convenient. Take the airlink100 to the main station (waverly train station) when you get out of the airport and take a little more road to get there. It's just that the nearest road is a lot of stairs. It's too difficult to carry luggage. The service is very good. There are microwave ovens and cutlery in the room. The food bought in the supermarket is too convenient to eat! Great! Toiletries are used by L'Occitane, so they are safe to use. Room size is average. The wind was very strong outside and the room was warm. awesome
