We checked in on Sunday to visit our daughter that goes to SIUE, this was located very close to campus. We dropped our bags off and spent the day in St. Lewis and arrive back later that evening and played a game with our daughter then about to have her leave and get ready for bed we noticed a bug crawling on the bed. We trapped it and put it on the table to figure out what type of bug it was. We took a lot of pictures and found that it was a cockroach nymph! We then started to look around the room, the bed, bathroom and then found several more in the kitchen. One has trapped itself in a glass and the other were crawling in a hole by the shelf. We packed our things, because we're not sleeping with bugs in our room (#218) I spoke with Carmen at the front desk and she didn't look surprised when I told her we had baby cockroaches in our room. All she said was the hotel is completely booked and she didn't have another room for us. I said I would like a refund and she said the Phillip the manager would be in tomorrow at 3pm and I could call him. All the hotels in the area were booked and we had to drive to Alton for another room. I sent an email to Phillip and didn't hear anything back until almost 7pm and by email he was only going to give me a 30% discount. I then called and spoke with Phillip, ask why I couldn't have my full refund and he said because we checked out after midnight that we stayed and he spoke with the bug guy and his house keeping service and they said oh, it's not an infestation. I'm sorry, but it shouldn't matter when we discovered the roach, just that this hotel has them and are unwilling to give you a refund because they need to still make some money. This is not good business! I have also started a claim with Marriott to investigate so that I can receive my full refund, but I have to wait 72 hours. I will include the pictures we took, beware of this hotel!

Check in clerk was annoyed we were there, lobby had a smell we couldn't place, breakfast is a hard pass, bed and sheets are worn out. Was not acknowledged I was a rewards members and had to ask for the welcome gift. Clerk acted like I was lucky to be allowed in. Stains on carpet in room. Fire alarm went off at 6am one morning, no mention at checkout or an apology.

Everything was wonderful. The room is a nice size, bright and very quiet. I didn’t hear any noise from above, next door or in the hall. Nice closet with plenty of shelves in the bathroom. The water pressure was good and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was perfect with everything you need. Keurig was awesome. I’d definitely stay again!

Plenty of free parking. On the way into the building which is smoke free you must pass thru a nice outdoor patio filled with smokers, The smoking area should be somewhere else too bad the patio can't be used due to smokers. Easy and early check in, you get exactly 1 bottle of water as titanium elite. The room was on the top floor corner and a quiet and comfortable suite. Small pool and workout area. Typical hotel free breakfast. The entire facility needs a good cleaning, carpet swept, elevator floors scrubbed, pool deck swept, mopped, drain on pool deck unclogged. Cigarettes picked up tables scrubbed in front and back patio areas. Good choices for restaurants nearby are walkable. With a little TLC this could be a five star stop.

This was my first visit to TownePlace Suites in Edwardsville, IL. My husband & I stayed for 1 night (a Friday) in a queen bed suite & paid $228.85. This was a complimentary upgrade from a king bed studio, thanks to my Gold Elite status. ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN/ROOM: We arrived around 7:30 PM, & it took ＜ 2 minutes to get checked-in. Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel to request a quiet room on an upper floor. We were grateful to have been assigned corner room #521. • Amenities: Almost anything you might need, except for a luggage rack. • Bath: Plenty of hot water & good pressure; hair dryer available. • Bed: Comfortable bed; we appreciated there being both soft & firm pillows to choose from. • Cleanliness: Very clean; however, the carpet could use a thorough vacuum. • Decor: Standard • Heating/cooling: Worked well • Sound: Interior was very quiet, but you can hear traffic (not bothersome to either of us). • TV: Clear picture, plenty of channels & streaming capabilities. • View: Nothing to note • WiFi: Strong DRINKS/FOOD: • We skipped the free breakfast offered CUSTOMER SERVICE: Excellent, both in-person & via the app chat feature. LOCATION/PARKING: • Location: Close to several restaurants • Parking: Complimentary parking PETS: • We chose this hotel because it's pet friendly. No noise concerns. Would I recommend/stay again? Absolutely! However, it is pricey compared to area hotels.

Stayed here for a third and final time last week. The first time was great. We were put on the top floor away from busy 157 and slept well. The last two times we were told by the reservation person that we could request that same room when staying again. We were late checking in and were put in a first floor room at the front of the hotel. Got zero sleep! Was told by Roberto that they won’t let you pick your room. The intersection of Center Grove Rd and 157 is EXTREMELY busy and loud! If you get put in one of these rooms you may as well sleep out in the parking lot because it sounds like you are inside the room! If your willing to take a chance on getting a room as loud as being out in the street GOOD LUCK! I will NEVER stay here again.
