Ivory Wilderness River Rock Lodge

This is a great value for money lodge that provides decent accommodation and lovely food at a reasonable price. Perfect for first timers or honeymoon couples to experience the bush. You are never guaranteed to see everything you want to but the guides will do everything they can for you and we certainly saw the big 5 and lots of other species and birds. We were fortunate to be guided by Craig Howson who was raised in the area and considered Klaserie royalty! I've been coming to the Kruger area for the last 20 years and Craig is probably one of the most unique and definitely the most eccentric guide I've ever met! but one thing that stands out is his genuine love for every living thing in the bush. We really enjoyed his style and he made our drives both interesting and entertaining. All the staff at the lodge were very obliging and friendly and never stopped working to try and make our stay special.

I can only warmly recommend this lodge! The staff were absolutely fantastic - really, really nice and accommodating. Everyone made the stay very special. It was as if you were staying with friends and everyone personally made sure that you felt completely at ease. The location of the lodge is simply amazing! It is in a beautiful, peaceful setting, ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature. Away from the hustle and bustle, but still perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding wildlife and landscape. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do - with their knowledge and experience they made every safari an unforgettable experience. It was fascinating to listen to their explanations and see the animals up close. The safaris were the absolute highlight! Great excursions with fantastic wildlife sightings. Every moment was exciting and the guides made sure that no question went unanswered. All in all, an absolute insider tip! This lodge not only offers excellent accommodation, but also unforgettable experiences that you won't soon find again. If you're looking for a special and authentic experience, you've come to the right place!

Our stay was amazing and, in particular, due to Wienand who was an incredible guide. My wife and I are passionnated by Mother Nature: we are both agricultural engineers and my wife is also an entomologist: nevertheless, we learnt plenty of good things with Wienand who is very well documented and objective. The lodge was perfect as well: very nice location and very quiet making it a place to come back to. Very well maintained all over its different sections. Food was also nice and the staff very polite. So, a 100% successful experience. Thanks again to Wienand and his wife to take care of us.

Ivory Wilderness is a genuine safari experience with the most professional team. It's a magic place!

Really enjoyed the experience, it was a bucket list adventure . We saw the big 5 plus lots of other game. Our guide definitely puts the animals welfare first but always conscious of our safety. Everyone was very welcoming and food and accommodation good. Definitely recommend.
