Rochester Calafate

Checking out on 25th August . We were shocked to see twin beds in our room. There are no doubles or queen duo available, is what they told us. The beds are so small that you keep thinking you are going to fall off of it! The restaurant and breakfast was nice. The check out girl was less than friendly. She kept charging us bills for another room and acted as if I’m lying to say I didn’t go to the bar. It would be nice if everyone at the desk spoke English for their international tourists! She turned kind of mean when I said I’m not fluent in Spanish ‍♀️ The view is amazing, but I assume that’s with most hotels in this area. Cash in pesos only, or credit cards. Your dollars will not go far in Calafate!

Lovely hotel. Check in was efficient and friendly. Staff service was excellent throughout the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with everything we needed. I was especially pleased to have a bath as well as a shower. Breakfast was very good as was the meal choice at dinner. The hotel offers a bus shuttle in and out of town. We reserved places but nobody checked our reservation. Luckily we did get seats on the bus but it would be frustrating to book and then find that you didn’t get a seat. The bar closes at 8. Maybe we were there in low season. We would have loved to retire to the bar for a nightcap after dinner but that wasn’t possible.

Great service and helpful staff! With all the pickups and excursions, the front desk was so helpful at making sure everyone got going in the morning! The bar area was great for lunch or an early dinner and had gluten free options. The breakfast was great with a variety of delicacies. Clean and spacious rooms with beautiful views. It’s out of town a ways but the hotel provides shuttle service.

We stayed at this hotel during a family trip and it felt like a little oasis of peace and calm. The rooms are enormous and the hotel also has plenty of nice areas to sit, all with views on the lake. There is also a very good restaurant, which we ended up eating at each nice. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. We had an issue with one of our tours and they went above and beyond to help us resolve it. The only con is that the hotel is right on the edge of town. They do offer a free shuttle, although a taxi into the center is quite cheap. After visiting the center, however, I didn't really feel like I was missing out all that much.

The staff, the proximity to the lake, the location, the food, the cleanliness, the helpfulness and the free shuttle to town, make this a great choice for a hotel in Calafate! The breakfast was sumptuous and on the day we were going to the glaciers, they packed us a terrific lunch to take with us! The rooms are just right. TV enabled us to watch the American Super Bowl! The shuttle is perfect for going into town. The staff always has great suggestions on other restaurants and things to do. But, you would be missing a great meal if you didn't eat an evening dinner in the hotel restaurant. I had the Mediterranean pasta and it was perfect. Wonderful wine list and great desserts and breads made on premises. The outdoor spaces were inviting and provided a great place for stargazing one night. All in all, a great property with great value.
