Apart Hotel Libertador undeniably has the best location in El Calafate. Situated along Av. del Libertador, shops, tour companies, restaurants, cafes and currency exchange are literally just right outside the hotel entrance. I got a 2-level apartment type room even if I traveled solo, so it meant a lot of space for my luggage, which I appreciate. The kitchen area is equipped with mini ref and electric kettle. Plates, utensils and dish washing soap are also provided. Wi-fi worked well inside the room. The sleeping area is on the 2nd floor. The beds and the pillows are not so comfortable but I still managed to get a good sleep after full days of glacier tours. The shower water heating works intermittently. The breakast variety is good and sufficient. The hotel offers tours and they also have lunch boxes at minimal cost for early morning tours. The staff are all very helpful specially Agustin and Pablo at the Reception. Thank you for all the tour and food suggestions and for the excellent customer service! I will stay at Apart Hotel Libertador again if I come back to El Calafate. The location is just unbeatable. It makes a good base for touring that beautiful part of Patagonia!

I went in early March with my wife. When they gave us the room on the ground floor, the first thing we saw were separate beds. We didn't have a problem with it because we were going to be in the hotel more to rest. The 14" CRT TV. The window didn't close properly. We complained at the reception, but nothing was done. When we were about to go to dinner we started to hear water in the bathroom. It turns out that in the bathroom upstairs they were taking a shower and water was falling from the ceiling. We complained and they changed our room. They sent us to the second floor. The room didn't have a TV, the window didn't close properly and was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, you could tell it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The truth is that every time we complained, the person in charge acted as if everything that happened was very strange. The "hotel" (because it's actually an inn and I'm being generous) needs a lot of maintenance. I don't recommend it, it's horrible.

The room is very small with a television from the 70s where you can't watch any channel due to non-payment of the cable service (the company's sign appears on the screen). Bathing... complicated: hot water with sudden jets of cold water. They avoid leaving soap, shampoo and you have to ask. Breakfast is uneventful and a big problem is the noise from the clubs or the birds that like to serenade in the early morning. The best... the mattresses and the location. Recommended only for sleeping and changing to go out.

The location is the best thing about the hotel! Everything else is normal/good for what you pay. Since the excursions are expensive, this hotel is ideal for sleeping, having breakfast and going out for a walk! 100% recommended.
