The resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around. The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time. The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average. Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

It's not a good idea to travel alone. You pay a deposit first, and the necessary expenses are paid from it, so you don't have to pay anything during your stay.Also, you can generally be satisfied with the activities included in the hotel plan, so there is no need to make reservations. You can truly forget about the world. Please note that transportation must be booked up to three days in advance, and activities must be booked up to the day before. It seems that the marine plants and animals on the beach in front of the hotel are being carefully protected and nurtured, and there are signs of regeneration. Even now, there are various plants and animals in that narrow cove, which can be seen from the pier, and is a great place to snorkel or dive. It is very fun. The air conditioning is so comfortable that you almost forget you're in the Philippines. There is also hot water in the bathroom. Above all, the staff are very hardworking and I would like to hear about what kind of employee training they do. The activities are also very interesting. Meals change daily. I think it's delicious for the Philippines. (In general, the food is better in Thai-Vietnamese food. I have the ingredients, so why not?) I wanted to get back the frying pan and make the omelet myself. If I give you the recipe for dessert, will you make it for me? )g The only thing is that the drainage system is weak, and there is an ammonia smell in the shower room. This is a common problem throughout the Philippines, and may be a fundamental problem with the piping system or construction technology.

My kids were very happy to experience glamping for the first time in the relatively new glamping villas of Karuna El Nido. Their staff were helpful and accommodating, the food was always satisfying and transportation was provided for guests who wanted to explore other parts of El Nido. Being new, of course there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of smooth and more excellent service. Having a great view also means it is high up on a hill and when you want to eat in their dining hall, there are a lot of steps to tackle on the stairs. Be ready. Also, this becomes a little bit of inconvenience when it rains. Because it was raining a lot of times when we were there, we did not get to enjoy the outside facilities provided in our villa. There was also some construction work ongoing just below our space so of course that was inconvenient too. The roads are being paved so be ready to tread through muddy roads. We hope to get a chance to visit again and see the improvements already done when we do.

Words cannot express the service and hospitality at Buko Beach Resort! We stayed in the Garden Villa and it was stunning! It was something out of a travel brochure. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the welcoming smile from Aira and Jasmin. They made my family feel so much at home. The food was delicious, the drinks were well made, the view from the restaurant was stunning, and of course...the service from the service was 10/10. As a side note, I had an issue with a forgotten item. With the assistance from the fantastic staff...again, Aira and Jasmin, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to resolve my problem. The feedback was always timely, and we were always assured that everything will be ok. We have nothing but glowing praise and review to both the RESORT and STAFF!!! We hope to visit again sooner. Thanks for treating us like family.

Nice hotel. Clean and a good location from El Nido beach. Some good bars and restaurants nearby. It is a little noisy at night, but ok. The breakfast is ok. Nothing special. We thought the omelette had no taste. But a decent stay. Vanilla Beach is lovely and 10 mins drive away. Tour A boat trip is incredible.Ps, a huge issue in El Nido is ATMs. They always run out or do not accept cards. Please be prepared. A few places accept credit cards, so save your money if you are running out.

Fantastic hotel! Lovely, clean pool and beach area. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The shuttle from the airport was very easy and the staff were friendly.

The first words of the staff is “welcome to paradise” and we can only say it was truly experiencing paradise. From the first second at lounge arrival to the last second of departure there was an amazing, friendly and personalized customer care! The hotel environment , the room, the food, the complementary boat trips all was excellent and gave us an incredible experience to never forget and … to return back to☺️

The location is in the heart of el nido town which is great. We arrived late first night in the Philippines and we were told our room wasn’t ready, so we were going to be in another room (a room less expensive per night may I add) for one night and we’ll change to our booked room the night after. The shower pressure in our room we booked was terrible, I know it’s SE Asia but this was pathetic. The temporary first room was5x times better. The employee said there’s nothing they can do and that is the pressure of our room.

I stayed at this hotel recently and had an utterly disappointing experience. The staff exhibited a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. Despite arriving slightly earlier than check-in, we were forced to wait for hours without any consideration. When I inquired about our room just two minutes before check-in time, the response was cold and dismissive, lacking any semblance of customer service. Furthermore, when we asked for the WiFi password, the staff member claimed ignorance and made us feel as if we were inconveniencing them by insisting on such a basic amenity. The room phones were utterly useless as they lacked telephone wires, rendering them nothing more than decorative pieces. The condition of the towels was appalling; they were stained and clearly not laundered properly. The pool resembled a stagnant pond, with murky water and visible debris floating on the surface. To make matters worse, the reception toilets were not only unsanitary but also lacked any signage indicating they were out of order, resulting in a disturbing encounter with diarrhoea. The shared toilets were equally neglected, with cobwebs adorning the corners and giant spiders lurking in the shadows. The bar and BBQ area seemed like relics from a forgotten era, abandoned and desolate. Even the sun-beds by the pool were broken, posing a safety hazard to guests. To top it all off, we rented mopeds through the hotel, only to be accused of causing damage upon returning them. The staff went so far as to track us down at our next hotel, demanding compensation for alleged damages. My advice to future guests: document every detail meticulously with photos and videos to protect yourself from such baseless accusations. Overall, my stay was nothing short of a nightmare, and I would strongly advise against anyone considering this establishment, we checked out a day early to get out as soon as possible.
