Great experience. Did some cookingclass, waterfallvisiting… they did anything to make the stay a 10/10. Very kind and wonderful people. Close to the centre of ella. Not too expensive and a good room too close to the waterfall. Also airconditioning!!

Went on a great trip with my friends, Had a good time, and we experienced the cookery class and the spicy garden, And there was a nice view from the balcony, and a beatiful hidden waterfall in their property itself, And their staff was super friendly, Thank you Shan for everything.

Great cooking lesson for an authentic Sri Lankan dining experience. Good place to stay slightly out of town. The waterfall is definitely a unique feature and the owners and staff very friendly and helpful. The food was a highlight for us……so tasty.

Recommend for nature lovers. friendly staff. There is also a beautiful waterfall on their property. A must see waterfall. Their food is also delicious. The owner Mr. Shan cares a lot about every guest. They also plan our trips and they have transportation service.We will come back to this hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights at River Splendour and would highly recommend. The family are so welcoming and helpful, and were able to organise a tuk tuk for our visit to Ella Village which is about 1.5 km away. It is quiet at the property, and it is true - there is a waterfall in the back garden! Our room was large and had great air conditioning. Breakfasts were Sri Lankan and delicious. I really enjoyed the cooking lesson I had on the second night.

Champi and Shan were great hosts. We learned so much about Sri Lankan life and customs in the few days we were there. We had a cooking class with Champi which was lovely. Shan brought us on a trip to the Dambatenne tea plantation, and also drive us to our next stop on the coast.

What a beautiful little haven !! Champi and family have created something beautiful - located just outside of the hustle of Ella but only a short tuk tuk away. He will help with anything you ask (including the parking of our Jeep while we stayed). The rooms are spotless, the waterfall is so beautiful! Highly recommend !!

Our family spent 3 nights at River Splender. Champi (and her family) are warm and friendly hosts. Ella has had a lot of rain so the waterfall was swollen and loud. Not safe to swim but wonderful to watch. My kids and I did a cooking class which was lots of fun and very delicious. I’m familiar with the spices but have never cooked with jackfruit or banana flower.I particularly loved hearing about the spices and fruits Champi grows in her garden. I picked a fresh cardamom seed which smells incredible! She even grows and grinds her own coffee! The rooms are basic but what may be lacking in mod cons is made up by jungle experience, a private waterfall and warm family hospitality. I can’t wait to try Champas family recipes at home.
