We had a wonderful time in Ely and enjoyed our stay at the Grand Ely Lodge. A pretty lively hotel even in the dead of winter, with a decent restaurant, friendly staff, and nice location close to town. The rooms was large and comfortable. Internet was fast and cable TV was extensive. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again during our next trip to Ely.

Not bad. It was a good sized room, the chairs weren't the most comfortable. My biggest complaint would be the plastic shower curtain and that the bathroom faucet is such that the water flow is only an inch or so from the sink wall, thus messaging hands together under the water involves smacking the sink side. The restaurant was pretty good and everyone was friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again

This property has so much potential, it's a shame it was so poorly planned out and managed. Overbooked with a shortage of parking spots and restaurant seating. Good luck finding a parking spot- many folks park on the grass around the hotel. Good luck getting breakfast- we waited for over an hour for a table. Don't believe their website booking system- you won't get the room you expected, even when you book a premium package. Oh yeah, bring your own pillows- they supply half-size pillows in standard cases! Classy! One more thing- if you book a package that "includes breakfast", keep in mind that you have a $10 limit from their menu. The hot tub and pool were clean. Rooms were quiet. Beds were comfortable.

Nice one night stay here - there was a water line break in town so could not try the restaurant - bed was comfortable and there was a choice of pillows. Bring your cord and plug as no usb plugs in rooms. Very quiet and nice area at the lake with kayaks and canoes for use.

We had a great experience at Grand Ely Lodge! From the friendly front desk check-in process to the bartender and housekeeping staff! Everyone was helpful, efficient and pleasant to speak with. We stayed on a ground level lakeview room and it was beautiful! I loved sitting on the bar 2nd floor deck while watching the sun set over the lake. Thank you for a magical time - we are excited to come back again!

This restaurant is absolutely excellent, so excellent we went to dinner there a second time even though we weren’t staying on the property. We had the Walleye filets, panfried. It came with a choice of soup or salad, choice of potato & a hot roll. (They offer two filets for an upcharge, but honestly we couldn’t eat anymore!) The service was excellent, and the price for all that food was $18.50 per serving!

Went here for my wife's Birthday. Excellent place to get away from everything. Very clean and cozy with good service. The on-site restaurant was also very good. With a nice menu selection and also good bar. The one issue I had with this place was the snow-mobiliers coming in out of the snow smelling like oil and gas and filling up the place with fumes. The smell only lasted a little while but was nauseating at the time. The should have a separate "mud room" area for these people to come in through.

Grand Ely Lodge is a lovely little respite. I stayed for a night after coming out of a big trip in the BWCA. It was clean, cozy, comfortable, had all the amenities and is close to all Ely has to offer. There was a little snafu with my reservation but Margie the manager took great care of me and quickly remedied the situation. Would definitely recommend and will be staying here again.
