This is supposed to be a 3-star hotel, not sure how. They had no idea which rooms had a walk-in shower as it appears most rooms have the shower inside a bath. As an older traveller, I am not able to step over the bath to take a shower, they also got the booking wrong giving us a double bed not a twin room. After finally getting allocated a room with two beds (1 single, 1 double) and a walk-in shower (room number 117 next to reception), I want to let people know the double bed in that room was one of the worst beds I have ever slept in. It sagged in the middle and I could feel the springs from the mattress sticking into my body. The pillow quality was also very poor. There was nowhere to hang your wet towels nor anywhere to keep your toiletries and the room was extremely tiny. There is no aircon or a fan in the room, so the room was extremely hot in the afternoons and into the night. We did have the window open but the noise from the road traffic meant we got little sleep, not to mention a group of youths parting in the carpark until 3am so also added to the noise and lack of sleep. On departure, I did inform the young girl at reception about the poor quality of the bed, however she seemed to care less. I would not recommend this hotel, stay in the other hotel in the township.

Although we were very pleased with our stay at the Queens Hotel there were a few minor details which could be improved upon but did not have an adverse effect on our visit. There wasn't a mirror near a plug socket to dry/straighten our hair. The television signal was poor so could not watch the news fully. There was nowhere to hang your towels. Apart from that I would highly recommend. The room was clean, beds comfortable. Shower was great with good hot water. The staff were friendly. The breakfast excellent. The location perfect. We weren't disturbed by noise but our stay was midweek, the weekend may be a little different.

Stayed here Friday 25th April for a night out with friends. Great location, parking very close by. Receptionist wonderful and bubbly. Rooms are in need of a bit of upgrading but they were clean and beds lovely and comfortable. All staff we met were so nice and friendly, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Would definitely recommend

We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected due to our work in the area finishing a little earlier than anticipated. The young lady who greeted us at reception was incredibly rude, totally unwelcoming and certainly no asset to any customer facing role. We asked would it be possible to check in and were told check in was 4pm, but she would give us call if the room was available any earlier. We asked could we leave our luggage and we were told to leave it in a corner of reception. (We were not really comfort with this, so it meant we had to take iPads etc with us) Unsurprisingly we never got a call, and returned to the hotel just before 4pm, there was a different girl on this time, it was her first day, she was very pleasant and helpful but really had no idea and didn’t even know where our room was when we asked her which way we should go. When we located our room , it was absolutely freezing, it certainly had not been occupied in a number of days, this in itself led us to wondering why we could not have being checked in earlier. After five minutes in the room, my husband returned to reception and requested a room change as it was warmer out in the street than it was in the room. He asked to speak to a manager but the manager finishes at four. The new girl at reception was very helpful and changed us to a much better warmer room straight away. This room had everything you would need , but the bed was dreadful. The room is not soundproofed at all and you could hear anyone who passed by in the corridor, the noise from the traffic was pretty bad as well. The water in the room was not fit for consumption, when you ran the tap it was white in colour, so you could not even make a cup of tea. We had a drink in the hotel bar again not to be recommended my vodka was served in a pint glass, no idea why. It was cold and uninviting. We didn’t bother with breakfast as we just wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible. We travel all over Ireland with work and this is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, we will never return and our advice is stay somewhere else or sleep in your car as anywhere would be better than here.

Grubby, cold rooms, thumping nightclub music until the early hours. If that’s your thing then this hotel is perfect for you. There’s no doubting that the price is reasonable, but what price do you put on being able to sleep? I strongly recommend that you avoid this hotel at all costs.

An absolute disgrace of a so called hotel never in all my years travelling have I been treated so badly ,I booked rooms in April as we take our twin grandaughters for an overnight stay every year as a Christmas present, we book somewhere different each year for a change but on arriving to book in first they looked for photo ID which again in all my years this was never necessary in any hotel we stayed in and on seeing their age we were then informed it was an over 18yr policy this was at 4pm as we couldn't book in until 4. Looked to speak to a manager but only to be told he wasn't available totally unacceptable from management. It should be on website as Adult only not just on their policy page . They absolutely ruined our yearly christmas treat I left in floods of tears and had to sort out another hotel which was the Treacys West Country . They could not do enough for us when arriving they gave us a great discount and a beautiful junior suite they went over and above to make our stay special so thank you Traceys especially Allanna your staff are a credit.

Toilet would not flush, cracked tiles , broken furniture and beds no support . Hotel kindly changed our room , window not airtight, curtains blew with breeze, it was too late for us to seek alternative accommodation so we wrapped ourselves in towels in bed to keep cold away. Furniture shabby, had to boil kettle on floor. Phone not connected to anywhere, tv not working and noice from street all night. An absolute terrible experience, I could go on and on
