Puntaquattroventi

Lovely staff in reception and pool bar. We were two girls traveling alone and although we felt safe having a room close to the reception, it was unfortunate that we had the breakfast kitchen right next to the room, sharing the bedroom wall with the kitchen. We ended up being woken up early every morning when they started working in the kitchen. The room was up to expectation, very good cleaning! Although we would have liked to have the sheets changed at least once or more during our week long stay. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, although more savory options would have been nice. It did have a good variety of sweet options, which was fun to try! Overall, the vibe was not too pleasant. We felt like we were imposing and that the daily Italian guest at the pool did not like tourists, which unfortunately brought our stay down. With the daily Italian pool guest it made the pool crowded and the pool area loud. But luckily the area by the beach, were the hotel guest were allowed to sunbathe were much quieter and calmer. Overall, the pool situation and feeling like we were not welcomed by the daily pool guests brought our stay down.
Il San Cristoforo
4.6/570 Reviews
We missed a flight out of Naples and overwhelmed with decisions to make quickly, just took a chance on San Cristoforo based on other reviews. What a happy accident! The hotel is such a high quality experience, and we were dumbfounded by our dinner at Line, which should have a Michelin star. We had a three week stay in Rome/Amalfi and stayed at multiple spots and Line was the best dinner, nothing else even close. Talk about making limoncello from lemons! Wow. Also recommend saving yourself the time and expense of a trip to Pompeii. The local suburb of Ercolano has its own archeology park from the Vesuvius eruption, Herculaneum. The hotel offers a free shuttle into Ercolano, and the walk to Herculaneum is only about 15 minutes. They are still uncovering new digs at the park as recently as 2021, and they are breathtaking. Also more informal than Pompeii, and you can wander around Herculaneum and see everything. Amazing to see the tile floors, frescoes and mosaics up close. Be aware the hotel is also a wedding venue and you may have some singing and music, although it does end at a reasonable hour.
Villa Signorini Hotel
3.8/549 Reviews
Our taxi driver told us that this hotel was the best value in Ercolano. It is owned by a family. It does need some TLC as the paint work is a bit old. The rooms are very big and comfortable. It was walking distance from the Herculaneum Ruins and the MAV (Virtual Archaeological Museum). We also walked to the bus who took us to Mount Vesuvius. The villa was built in 1730. Our room was on the street side and it was a bit noisy however you can close the shutters (which we did not do). The staff was very friendly and the restaurant has really good food. It is better to get to the hotel by taxi as it was not easy to walk from the station with suitcases.
