Erfurt Hotels with Bars

We stayed with 6 adults in 3 standard rooms. Rooms very neat and clean and good sound insulation. Breakfast was ample everything you would expect was there. Staff at reception and bar was friendly, staff at breakfast was rather stiff and came across as a bit cold. All in all a pleasant stay.

We stayed in this hotel on two separate nights bookending a trip to Frankfurt. This hotel is not - in our experience - typical of the Mercure brand. Far too often Mercure's are in good locations but somewhat rundown, tired and in need of attention. This is quite the opposite. It appears to have been wholly refurbished in the last five years, it is looked after. The hotel is conveniently situated near to both the old town and the main, new shopping area, both being no more than five minutes walk away. It is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the railway station or (for us) a €10 taxi ride. There is paid for car parking if required. This is a deceptively large hotel, the short frontage belies the fact that it has 141 rooms. The hotel stretches back from its frontage - we felt it was long and not very wide. It is spread over four floors and possibly an attic. We were on the fourth floor for our first visit and on the first floor for the second. Entry into the hotel from the street leads to a small reception area with ottoman seating. Screened from reception is a small bar and another soft seating area. The bar had elusive opening times - but seemed not to operate before 18:00 hours. Service was good. There is a restaurant that is not the breakfast room but that was not open during our stay with no sign of opening on the horizon. All public areas were clean, tidy and well maintained, albeit with a Alpine overtone! Access to the upper floors is via dedicated lifts or stairs depending upon the location of the room, with some rooms there is quite a walk to the lift. There is a small garden and paved area with seating. We saw no specific provision for disabled access but believe that the hotel is easy enough to negotiate. There is a separate breakfast room which works very well albeit it is not large. It is at the furthest end of the hotel from reception and bypasses some of the meeting rooms. Whilst these rooms were used during our stays we experienced no difficulties. We took breakfast early and the restaurant was never full or cramped. Breakfast is generous but prettty standard continental fare. Our first room (413) was a standard room and disappointing although it was clean and well cared for. Our second room however (136) was an upgrade and provided exceptional space and comfort for a reasonable price. Had we been able to satisfactorily understand the room descriptions and attributes on the website a room such as 136 would have been our preference. It had a large and comfortable double bed, a small seating area with table, a separate desk along with the usual accessories of a safe, TV, wifi etc. We didn't try the TV but everything else worked. There is no aircon but there is very effective radiator heating. We can imagine that opening the windows for some rooms would produce a great deal of street noise, but both our rooms were towards the rear of the hotel and quiet. Great location, literally 2 minutes on foot to the Erfurt Cathedral. Great breakfast, good variety, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff. The room itself is not what one will expect from a 4-stars-hotel. Absolutely uncomfortable, cold, old furniture which doesn't suit to such a hotel. Horribly noisy, basically you can hear your neighbours, awful! Not to mention the old noisy a/c! No coffee maker or at least a kettle in the room! Instead you're kindly asked to go to the reception and buy coffee or any drinks from the vending machine. And please, people, check the tissues package! If there are only several tissues left, then you'd better change the whole package instead of waiting till it's empty...or am I wrong?! During my next trip to Erfurt I will definitely try another hotel to compare it, this one gets from me the lowest possible mark!

Ich kann die teilweise schlechten Erfahrungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir waren am 1. Adventswochenende dort, da andere Hotels unverschämte Preise verlangt haben. Die Zimmer waren geräumig, optisch ansprechend und sauber, aber etwas hellhörig. Das Frühstück war gut und die Mitarbeiter freundlich. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat gestimmt. Die kostenlosen Parkplätze sind ein Pluspunkt und in der Nähe ist eine Bushaltestelle, um das Zentrum ohne Auto zu erreichen.

Ein schönes Hotel in der Altstadt und unweit der Krämerbrücke, einem Highlight in Erfurt. Der Parkplatz befindet sich in der Tiefgarage, wie überall ist auch hier die Zufahrt eher beengt und die Parkmöglichkeiten mit größerer Fahrzeugen erfordert etwas Geschick. Direkt von dort gibt es eine Möglichkeit zur Lobby zu gelangen. Unser Zimmer war im 1. STOCK..Schön eingerichtet,sehr sauber, allerdings hatte die Stirnseite des Bettes schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, Kunstleder. Die Matratzen waren gut. Es gibt eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, wir haben allerdings das geöffnete Fenster vorgezogen. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war sehr lecker 😋. Hier auch sehr aufmerksamer Service. Das Zimmer war bis 12.00 verfügbar. Unser Auto durfte bis 14.00 in der Tiefgarage bleiben. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

An excellent hotel in a lovely city within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. My room was basic but clean, the staff on reception friendly and helpful and the breakfast (included in the price, unusual in Germany) was tasty and (although the hot options were poor and a little cold) there was a wide range of other options. A good value, centrally located hotel!

The hotel from the 1990s is in good condition. The rooms are bright and friendly, with white rough fibre tape appears to be freshly renovated. Beds, dressing box, refrigerator and desk corner are recreated with a bright birkenholz furnier. In the bathroom a large mirror such as new, shower sheet and washing table clean and maintained, but traces of calcification in the douche doors. The bath airing works excellently and is very quiet. The large window to the street is well isolated, the street noises are almost completely disconnected. Breakfast buffet in the light dining room meets the requirements of this class, the service is good and breakfast is offered for a long time. Overall, the price-performance ratio was very good. We're happy to come back.

Staff were very pleasant but there was very little English spoken. As in many hotels we stayed in Germany, there was only one black tea bag in a double room meant for two people! Very strange. One thing to note for all guests is regards to the safe. I could not work out how to key-in my own personal code number to lock/unlock the safe, so I went to reception and they gave me a slip of paper with a four digit code on it. I said that I wanted to enter my own (secret) number and was told that this could not be done! I argued that it should be possible to key in my own code but they said that I could not. I was not happy but had to accept it. Later I remembered a safe in another hotel where you could change the code by pressing a reset button on the inside edge of the door toward the hinge. I tried this and it worked. When I Checked out I left them with a written instruction in German (using an online translator) on how to change the code.

Modern design hotel near Erfurt main train station, and a short walk to old city center. Standard double room was simple but comfortable, very clean, with good beds and bathroom. Nice staff, but check-in process seemed a little slow - we had to queue up for some minutes despite there were not so many guests awaiting check-in. Breakfast was good (buffet) but a little crowded .

The hotel is located in an exhibition area in Erfurt, next to a large supermarket and a small Vietnamese restaurant. There is an S-Bahn platform in front of the hotel. Parking is available but charges apply. The staff at the front desk of the hotel was very welcoming and the breakfast buffet was quite rich, but there were several service staff in the restaurant that didn't seem to be particularly friendly to Asians! The room was clean, tidy and bright, but the space was slightly smaller and the room was free of charge.
