Artiem Carlos - Adults Only

The staff is polite and helpful. Guests praise the spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds and fabulous views. The breakfast offers a variety of delicious options. The hotel's location provides easy access to amenities.

We stayed in Oct 2023 and immediately rebooked it for this year we like it had no beach, no Irish bars or English pubs i.e., quiet. Good location if you like walking; in one direction along the estuary coast in the other to Mahon about 40 minutes. Or, as I have seen other people put in their reviews, reachable by local bus or taxi. The Artiems location is one of the best features as your balcony overlooks the estuary; boats and ships ranging from small yachts to ocean liners pass by right in front of you each day, much more interesting than the standard sea view. We had room 111 which was just very convenient for reception and the restaurant. Mini bar and fridge included, the Wi-Fi works in the room. The bathroom had a great standalone monsoon shower with consistent temperature and flow. The tv only had BBC 1 and 2 but you generally do not go on holiday to watch television The hotel has an older feel, it is certainly nothing to look at from outside and inside it is very modest in style. What it does have in its favour are the staff all of whom are friendly and helpful we could choose many to mention but the three we had the most interaction with were Lauren, Raul and Laurtarro who makes a very good flat white). We had half board. The restaurant was the usual buffet style, although the choice of foods was smaller than most hotels of this standard, we found the quality was better than many so you always found something to like. Each evening there was generally only one meat option in the buffet section but they did put on a “live” cooking area where a chef was offering two meat and two fish dishes. Being near the end of season the restaurant was quiet so easy to choose food. Even when this hotel is fully booked it still seems quiet which is very enjoyable. Evening entertainment was only on for two nights out of 10 but it is not a big thing on our list of needs anyway. The price was very reasonable and the weather for October was very warm, just one afternoon when it rained. The hotel runs a very good eco friendly policy and something we really liked was the no smoking policy in all rooms and public areas something we wish other hotels would adopt as policy. We will definitely be back again because we liked the quiet resort of Es Castell and the upmarket feel of the Artiem Carlos.

Other than the hotel’s quiet location, overlooking the harbour tributary, the hotel’s jewels are their staff. Friendly, competent and hardworking. The room was always clean, well appointed and the aircon worked a treat. We went on a half-board basis. The breakfast and dinner’s were a combination of buffet and prepared food. Not an overly wide selection, but enough selection, and the food was consistently good. If you prefer to eat out at night, there are several restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk along the waters edge. As an ARTIEM hotel, this property also employs certain eco-friendly drives such as managing laundry/ non-smoking in the main hotel areas. We will definitely recommend this hotel and the group. The Carlos was thoroughly enjoyed.
